Agreeing with everything you said, especially the bolded. If rumor is correct about McHale strongly adviced Morey in taking Royce at 16, there might be some favoritism over other rookies, especially with what had happened on Media Day. Coaches are known to make illogical decisions when their ego is on the line.
Letting go of Josh Harrelson was an under the radar, very poor move. He is a more than serviceable backup Center.
Unless you want Greg Smith on the court, TJ may be our best option at backup center. 6'10/250 is big enough for the job as been discussed in earlier comparisons to Al Horford & Joakim Noah. Dmo doesn't seem physically strong enough or heavy enough to hang with 5's. Royce may be an option at 5 as well in a Chuck Hayes-meets-Magic Johnson kind of role.
Still too early to deliver the verdict. With so many PF's, there is still a strong possibility one of them can and will become a legit backup. They may not be as powerfully built as Josh but definitely with more agility and athleticism than him.
I never never thought that D-Mo should start but I did think T-Jones should play the starting 4 since the SL!
Just bumping this thread to underline the importance of not reading too much into one game. Tonight, Jones was the one who was meh, and Motiejunas was the one who played well. Does that decide things? Absolutely not. It's just two games, which isn't much better than one. That said, I'm still going with the impression I had before the preseason even started, that Motiejunas is the better prospect.
Motiejunas is the last of the three you would want to start. Me, i voted Patterson but I'm leaning towards Jones.
You think that because you're one of the top three most ignorant, least knowledgeable posters on this board.
Patterson will begin the season started, I don't think anybody doubts that, but he could become the started some time into the season. Sort of like how Budinger got replaced by Parsons.
Oh really? played well? And Jones was not ''meh", he is solid on defense(nearly got 2 blks, one being counted on Livingstone) and keep running to the open floor. He just needs to make those shots.
