He has a nose for the ball, as we've seen from his offensive rebounding.

Offensive rebounding isn't something you can just work on, many great offensive rebounders are instinctive.

Patpat has a very very fundamentally sound jumper, something the Rockets haven't seen in a long long time. The moment he catches his ball, he takes a small hop to set his feet to take a rhythm shot, which is a sign of consistency (something he has shown).

His height definitely does not seem like much of a problem. He has been a defensive force for the past couple of games where he played (especially against San Antonio).

I have a feeling PatPat's ceiling is a combination of Landry, Hayes and Scola all in one.

Yeah all he needs is more playing time and a good rebounding coach. Then we've got our Horace Grant for the next decade.

Impressive for a rookie, enormous potential. The Rockets are stockpiling a number of impressive young players.

    Let's just hope that's not:

Landry's rebounding, Hayes's offense and Scola's defense.

Patterson actually has great defensive instincts as a help defender. He's still fouling a lot (he is a rookie, after all), but once he matures a bit more as an NBA player he could he as good defensively as Kevin Garnett. Offensively, he's obviously pretty gifted too.

I have a feeling we're only scratching the surface with P-Pat right now. He ceiling looks, to me, like that of Kevin Garnett... can he reach it?

I only see good things for Pat. He'll improved from game to game and will be easily in the starting five.

He could be something like David West, maybe just a bit softer, we'll see.

Sampson had hair, Landry had teeth. He was an average defensive rebounder and exceptional offensive rebounder before he lost teeth to Utah and Dallas.

I think he will be a fast and athletic Scola. ;) A few years from now, people will say Scola is the Argentine Patterson.

I knew when they drafted Pats, he would contribute to the team sooner rather than later. He will dominate in his 2nd and 3rd seasons.

This was already posted, but it deserves to be here a second time for the people who doubted the drafting of Patrick.

Patterson needs to work on his duchebaggery and a karate kick. This way we can have our own Karl Malone.

Yes, the Rockets talent evaluation has to be in the top 2-3 in the whole league.

KG is a reach... he isn't as tall or long as KG, nor the athlete... but Pat could be a very good defender.

I've been really optimistic about Pat lately myself. We have to see how much he can add to his game in the offseason...if he's improved significantly...watch out. The guy has a great touch and a nose for the ball, he just needs to work on his inside game and defense. It's nice to see someone with upside on this team, I've given up on thinking Jordan Hill has any.
