It's amazing that there are so many universities in Kentucky. Must need a lot of out of state students to fill them up.
Its amazing the Tweets that T-Will got away with on a daily basis, and Pat says one thing then takes it down 30 seconds later and gets hit with a 25K fine???... geez. Whatever, it was worth it to see Patterson take up for his team. This team needs to have an edge to make it in the West. Good for you Patrick.
I think it is a UK thing, but I think D.Rose's comment is less offensive than Patterson's, both were fined $25,000. “I’ve got to be the only superstar in the league going through what I’m going through right now,” Rose said after the game.
oh honey I'm only getting started! There's Murray State University, University of Louisville, and Morehead State University (yes... laugh)
Pass the hat at the next 2 Rockets home games. Voila. 25K for Patrick. Call it a payment for being a spokesperson for every fan of the NBA. #nomoresuperstarcalls
The NBA is protecting its brand. TWill was just a nuisance for the Rockets. If players don't like the calls or refs they need to go hard at the next CBA against the refs' union. They are why Bavetta and Crawford are still in the game.
Kentucky is an NBA team. I really wish there was a salary cap in the SEC, though. Kentucky would be in luxury tax range.
@MarkBermanFox26 Rockets forward Patrick Patterson says he is appealing his fine by the NBA of 25K for criticizing the officiating on Twitter
Appeal? Really? You said what you said, you got caught, pay the fine. Doesn't matter if you deleted the tweet afterwards.
Might not do much but he did censor the tweet.....so that's means they know the refs are bias, guilty my admission with the fine. Its one thing to screw up the game but to fine a player when clearly the refs are wrong for just adds salt to the wound.
Now thinking about it...I bet Stern does have people watching players tweets and he must have took that one personal mostly the part about "...I wish we had a superstar..." Lol because we almost had a semi-star in Gasol but of course Dictator Stern vetoed for basketball reasons.
Fine seems appropriate. Don't know why Stern should catch flak over it. I know my boss wouldn't be happy to see me bashing my own company on Twitter. Patterson is lucky the worst thing that can happen to him is a fine.
As long as fans continue to watch this garbage that is called the NBA, Stern and his minions will spit in your face and laugh about it. Aside from a few Linsanity games when Lin was blowing up, I have not watched a single game this season, my time is too valuable to be wasted on a crappy product like this. If you want to see a better brand, let your wallet do the talking. Stern understood this concept better than anyone else you know!
You're crazy if you think a tweet on his personal account could have or has hurt the money machine (company) that is the NBA or the Clippers. Its a persona vendetta by the slave master against player/team who speak the truth about the biased refs... Its not like anything he said was a lie. Refs are human and they make mistakes right? So do players it was right after the game heat of the moment, no harm was done by the tweet. The Rockets got shafted and now Patterson for speaking about.
