all 20 people who attended my party knew Eli would throw at least one crucial TD .....eli is not elite
LOL. I'm usually the first person to cheer for the underdog, so every game the Patriots play I wonder why I feel so compelled to cheer for these guys. Then comments like these make it all so clear. In terms of the game, there is definitely reason for some concern with the Patriots. Teams are starting to exploit the lack of defensive speed with regularity, and the loss of Colvin hurts an already really old linebacking corp. I wrote earlier this season that I didn't think the Colts could stay within 14 of New England in Foxboro, but this New England team isn't clicking on all cylinders like they were two months ago and is certainly more vulnerable. I agree with a lot of folks that Jacksonville is the biggest threat. I don't think the Colts without Freeney and on grass can generate the pass rush you have to have to compete with the Pats' offense, and while the Chargers can pressure the quarterback, I just can't see Philip Rivers winning a game against that kind of opponent on the road. Jacksonville's defensive line and offensive depth is the best chance, imo. Even so, I'm not sure if Garrard can keep up with Brady in a shootout. I just can't imagine this group actually losing. They had one heck of a test tonight with that hole they dug and going up against a terrific pass rush, and once Brady and Moss established their will it was basically over. Props to them, what a team.
LMAO at the geezers from the '72 Dolphins who are bitter about the Patriots' perfect season. I understand they need to win the Super Bowl to truly have a perfect season but the rehearsed and researched metaphors coming from these old bastards shows how much this has been on their minds and how much it bothers them. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3173309 "I can't say how I feel because they haven't done it yet. If I had hair, I would look like Tom Cruise. But I don't have any hair. They haven't done it, so how I can I say how I feel?" "We were the first ones to climb Mount Everest," Yepremian said late Saturday. "If New England comes and does it, then they can be the second ones. But you usually don't remember No. 2. I remember Sir Edmund Hillary was the first one to climb Mount Everest. I don't remember who did it the second time. Do you?"
Except the Patriots will have gone 19-0, while the Dolphins went 17-0. 19>17. It would be more like the Dolphins climbed K2 and the Patriots climbed Everest.
That bomb to Moss that broke both records was sick -- a play we will see over and over again... _____ I would like to take a moment to congratulate the Oakland Raiders for securing a 4th round draft pick for the all time touchdown leading wide receiver in NFL history.
I don't really believe that. Any team can beat you in the playoffs for the fact of it just being one game, and the match-ups. If it were a 7 game series, then New England would be the clear favorite, but one game against a team that will probably go 12-4. Could go either way? Another thing about Jacks is that they are not nearly as flawed as Giants, Redskins, or even Steelers.
Meh. The early season steamroller is gone. They are getting tested each week by inferior competition. Their defense, with so many "vintage" players, is getting worn out. They are just dead dog tired. There's no way the Giants should be able to hang 30+ on the Patriots. Just my 2 cents. Cool game though!
I agree, I like Jacksonville and they may be the 3rd best team in the NFL, but if they run into NE or Indy. They will lose.
Just really unfortunate that a team that does it the wrong way has been so successful. Depressing, really.
My sentiments exactly. The kids will say "cheaters never win? Well what about the Patriots?" Sad. Pathetic.
Also think that the Jaguars can beat New England, The Jaguars have an excellent running game, a great QB (doesnt throw ints) and a nice defense.
Jaguars would get roasted by the Patriots just like they got roasted by the Colts. They are a nice feel-good team, but the playmaking abilities to win against those two teams.
