Shame on the DoJ. What a disgrace. This was the kind of thing I'd hope we were moving away from.

Is anyone surprised that this happened? The DOD doesn't care about the Constitution and they know no one else cares enough to do anything about it.

Nope. If he wants to commit suicide, let him. He's still a traitor.

What do you mean? Obama says his treatment is "appropriate and meeting our basic standards."

He released information that was not his to disseminate, that happened to be classified. No one denies that. By definition that makes him a traitor as the result of his actions gave useful information to our enemies.

I don't approve of the unconstitutional measures being taken during his confinement. But I can regard him a traitor and a disgrace. Those who want to make him a hero, go ahead. The same Constitution says we can all have our own opinions.

He's just fulfilling Obama's promise for more transparency. Isn't that what he said? It's something I hoped for...

I didn't say you couldn't have your own opinion. That said what he is dealing with is essentially extra judicial punishment based off of a cover of providing for his safety. That in principle violates his rights and until he is tried and convicted by something other than your opinion he has those rights.

Its not so why then go to such lengths to protect him?
