This thread is sick! As a citizen, personally, my kids come before anything else. And yes, this includes patriotism.... Sorry!
What a lame excuse. How naive must you be to accept the 'kids' story as an excuse? Obama has soooo many handlers who could watch the kids on their 4th day of school (lol). The kids didn't stop her from campaigning away from home earlier this week. Face facts, don't stick you head in the sand: Imagery of angry Michelle Obama at Ground Zero is political poison. Patriotism and respect for America aren't exactly her strongsuits...
So.... it's okay to campaign out of town DURING a SCHOOL WEEK for a kid's mom as long as it's not on 9/11 in NYC? Riiiight.... BTW- This was the official excuse given by the Obama Campaign... not an accusation from the right. READ PEOPLE, READ! If it's your excuse, then it can't work only when you want it to. The lack of respect for the 9/11 families was clearly announced by Michelle Obama... her kids are only more important when it comes to them.
So do you think Michelle Obama hates America? I thought families were off-limits to you anyway? Which is it?
I guess family values only matters to Palin when her daughters not getting boinked by her boyfriend. Oh wait, that's sexist. But questioning an woman's patriotism, that's just fine and dandy to the Republicans. Disgusting.
Their excuse is holding less water by the minute. It was their excuse, not mine. See, the reading comprehension skills dictate that you notice that people can't say "but school has started" when they have already campaigned, away from home, during the self-same period of school time... the same week! If this was the real excuse... then Michelle would have ceased campaigning on day 1 of shcool, and would not be heard from again on a school night, Sunday - Thursday every week. BTW- your "which is it" does not apply to Palin because she has no excuses about campaigning on a school night. We all know that Todd and other family members are taking care of the kids, as they have for years. If you cannot see that the Obama camp thought better of putting Craig's sister, with her angry scowl, in front of cameras... well then you can't see what I can see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCO79Y1eQvI
Answer the question. Oh and if you need geography lessons, Indiana borders Illinois and Ohio is one state over. Why don't you try a little comprehending? Also, are only Republican families off-limits?
No one is targeting the kids here anyway... they are targeting Michelle. Nice try. Also... when did "out-of-state" not mean "out-of town?" Last I checked unless you live in a city similar to Texarkana, or Kansas City (two examples) if you leave your state, you've gone out of town. Wow. TIA for your comeback on the definitions of "out of town."
A 30-minute flight to a campaign rally is a little different than a 150 minute flight to a huge ceremony like that. Me going to Shreveport or me going to Chicago from Houston are two completely different things. Again, are you calling Michelle Obama unpatriotic? Do you believe that she does not care about the 3,000 people who died?
First point, I agree... but both would be "out of town." Second point, no. I am saying the excuse doesn't work for one, but not the other. I feel it's more about the opinion that her facial expressions are taken as angry more than anything. Just google her image, and judge her expressions more often then not. She is perceived by many to be angry and scowling. Whether that is what goin on in her heart and mind does not counter the perception. They will not however just admit, that the potential first lady, is perceived by some as scary. That would be yet another Obama-under-the-bus move.
Where did I ever say they weren't out of town. Going from Houston to Brookshire is going out of town...what's your point. Again, how do you feel about Michelle Obama? Why won't you answer the questions?
