That is because currently he is being left WIDE open, that will change once people respect that he can hit that shot. DD
Yeah, like you said, he looked good in the preseason. The regular season is a different story. He won't be up against DJ Mbenga.
Hasn't seemed to bother him...some guys are just great, regardless of whom they play against. You can see other players defering to him now...even opponents...he will be an all time great. DD
Although, the way he worded it does make Patterson sound better. He's going to be a beast... Already is. Millers minutes need to be significantly reduced. Also, this trade deadline is making me nervous... I really hope he isn't going to be traded.
For me, the norm is odds are not in favor of a player coming from an injury that didn't allow him to play one game in the season, but Griffin has proven he was immune to this. He deserves it this year and probably would have earned it last year too. The one reason: Pure talent, he is blessed with tons of it, and knew how to make it effective since before being drafted. Watching can only help, but in a physical profession such as this, you can only get better by doing it on the court, be it in practice or in game experience. As far as the numbers he is putting up, I think he would have done the same either way.
He gets most of those wide open shots off of pick and rolls.... He sets great picks. As long as he keeps that up, he'll keep getting good looks
I am counting on that too. Patterson could be our starting PF for the next 14 years giving that he is only 21 years. Fundamentally sound, all he needs is to further polish his game in the off-season, gain some needed experience by playing and this guy has a chance to become someone really special for us. Now can we trade C-Bud and Hill for a rebounding/shot blocking center, please?
Ive said this before ...Patterson>>>>Hill.............can we all admit that Hill is nowhere close where he should be in comparison to patterson....this kid can hoop and makes hill expendable.Pat plays big like Hill should but doesnt......IT IS WRITTEN.
This is not a rookie QB in the NFL. You dont learn anything in the NBA by sitting on you butt other than seeing how hard you have to work.
How about practicing with the team? Or learning the team's offence and defence? How about learning the positioning?
He really doesn't seem to have any weaknesses... A consistent jump shot opens up so many doors... When players respect his shot, it will make easier for his defenders to get off balanced... More drives... Trips to the freethrow line He's strong too... I see a lot of and 1's in his future.
Patterson has only played a couple of games. If he's #4, this is a really, really shallow draft class.
You dont know what your talking about if you dont think he has serious talent. If he had come out a year earlier he would have been a top 5 pick maybe top 3 pick.
He's ranked #4 for his play this past week. He's not in the top 5 overall... Maybe 6th? Right where the Rockets had him on their draft board.
no matter what, he has proved he belongs to this league. he is ahead of hill in every espect of the game except his height. if he had the height of hill, i would not be surprised at all he would be in rotation more than hill. he is no doubt a solid role player at least based on limited playing time. whether he can break through and get on another level will be told by the time.
btw, it's remind of yao. yao's being missed so much. w/ yao in the middle, ppat would have had field day every time he played with yao. ppat has not only accurate mid range shot but also a deadly bank shot, one of td's deadly weapon.
Quit being a damn hater and give credit where it is due dammit! Blake griffin is the shi$@ -and deserves it!
How was there an advantage by him sitting around watching NBA players???? Don't all rookies watch NBA players before they even start playing? Griffin has been one of the best rookies we've seen ever play so far. You gain experience by playing... You don't gain it from watching.
