MAN!!! If thats true thats crazy!! By the way, thanks for correcting me. I didn't know thats how the measurements were done. Preciate it!!
All measurements are pretty useless on their own and out of context. Just looking at height alone doesn't tell you much, either. And yes, good enough wingspan and reach can sometimes make up for lack of height, since you are after all using your hands to play. I remember a similar debate on this board a while ago about FG% vs. more advanced shooting stats like EFG% and TS%. Some moron actually claimed that FG% must be superior because that's what they show on tv and traditional box scores don't have the advanced stats either.
Otis Thorpe, one of my favorite Rockets players of all time! <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V0mD8JckVYg&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V0mD8JckVYg&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Otis Thorpe's hands...
there has been a lot of talk of bad thread titles. this was an excellent one. loved OT back in the day
Well, I actually think his offense can develop into Boozer's category, rather than already being that good. So yes, in 2-3 years, if Patterson develops, he can be a 20ppg scorer. Mainly, I think OT is a bad comparison because OT lives in the paint as a post-guy/garbageman. While Patterson has more range, and likely spreads the court more. So to me, Boozer on offense and PF version of Battier on defense would be my dream scenario for Patterson. And I think Patterson's absolute ceilling would be Karl Malone(but without being a karate-kicking douchebag)
http://walterfootball.com/nbascoutingreport2010ppatterson.php This link describes him like a Kenyon Martin type player. Anywhere from 13-17ppg and 7-10 Rpg type player. High energy type. Not a bad pick, might be scola replacement.
