Tillman will NEVER make his son GM he's grooming him to be a future owner. He's using him to be eyes and ears and get experience. You have to understand how billionaires think. A GM position is a higher and fire position.
I blame Patrick F for micro ball and trading away Capela with no real replacement. 6'5" Tucker and Covington But he has learned from his mistakes and doing better
it's worst than that. if you ever go to a game watch him and daddy sit courtside as a rox coach staffer runs back and forth between quarters with stat sheets. patitta sits there, in real time, "analyzing" the players performance. it's super cringy to watch
This^ From TF perspective, makes sense to insert PF in BBall Ops to learn the business from the inside and also be his eyes/ears. I don't like it, but I understand it.
Give patito baby duck his credit. He's the mastermind behind this successful operation. He shadowed Morey to every place he went (mostly mcdonalds). Discovered he's a charlatan and got him fired.
I can’t stand the nepotism at that level so I try not to think about it. But not gonna hate on him until he goes all Ben Foster in Hustle.
Patrick Fertitta reminds me of Mark Cuban type trying to act like he's a peer with the players. I'm sure he will party with free agents ala Chandler and Cuban back in the day.
I loved the Segal movies. I know a lot of people hated them, but he is a master of combat marshal arts, which I studied, but never perfected at a high level. He did.
I'll hate on him either way but I understand. Think Tilman is trying to be like a Buss family on how things will be ran.
Hate the nepotism, but nothing too wrong about that. Dude will probably own the team one day. Is it a little douchey? For sure. But whatever.
Tilman can't be everywhere at once, and so he puts people that he trusts supremely in key positions to give himself leverage. This is the way the world works -- and oftentimes does lead to inexperienced people holding very attractive roles. It's Tilman's decision since he owns the team. Hopefully Patrick can just avoid doing anything stupid and rely on the experienced people that surround him. That's the best way for him to approach a job that he's really not qualified to hold (at least right now). Over time he can develop into a legitimate executive if he immerses himself in the role, is humble, and gives a strong effort.
Ultra-rich people move differently. Being the GM of a sports team for them is the equivalent of a manual labor job to most of us. Billionaires don't want to work, they just want to look successful.
