Man, there is so much trash talking in the NBA. Whatever. Beverly is a pro athlete, same as all the other players. They've been through plenty enough in high school, aau, , college, international, that this is barely a blip on their screens.
He is a bulldog. I love his attitude. He takes no quarters and gives none.On a young team you need these types to keep the fire burning.
Love this kid's attitude. Plays with competitive fire and tenacious effort on every play. Also an excellent teammate cheering on the team from the sidelines. Yea he grew up on the mean streets of Chicago so he's got a little edge to him. But sometimes you need that element on a team full of "nice" guys. He just needs to be a little more tactful with how he expresses himself but that will come with age.
They are not out there to make friends, I have absolutely no problem with Beverly's attitude towards the other team.
You need guys like him! if you're scared to get burnt stay out of the kitchen! who cares if there up for the next game you get up for it to.
They were almost playing a 4-1 zone to protect the arc, were fouling hard and intentionally when down by 30, and left the bucket wide open for a slam just to hold on to some kind of pride that they kept the rockets 1 shot away from breaking a record when they got flat out embarrassed. Beverly slammed in hard and emphatically, as he should have. There were multiple levels of dissrespect between professional athletes out there. I don't necessarily agree with the staring down of the bench though. In any case, chances Beverly is taller than you @ 6'1", regardless.
Beverly came in during garbage minutes puffing his chest at a team that was down 30. It made me wish Machado was still with us. That type of stuff is bush league.
I don't really mind the attitude, on the contrary I like it. A little taunting in sports is never a bad thing. Plus when we play Golden State again soon, it should be a very good game. Now teams like the warriors and jazz will hold grudges against us, in which us rockets fans will be enjoying
I like someone on the Rockets having some "nasty" in him. But there's a really really really (really) strong case to be made it should NOT be Beverley. The dude is our 3rd string point guard.
i love it! this team has a chippiness to them and they come out and play fast and hard every night (maybe unless we're going through a string of back to backs and 4 games in 5 nights). There is some great personalities on this team but if things get chippy some of our guys will happily oblige. I guess its part of what comes with being the youngest team in the NBA. This team can be very mature but a little childish too, not always in a bad way tho. They have fun. i freakin love it.
When was the last time an NBA team won a championship with 12 super nice guys on the team? Doing it in junk time isn't that cool but for all we know the bench were talking to the players on the court, they clearly were after Beverly stared them down and it was pretty weak to not allow the 3 when you're down big whether you think it was right for the Rockets to go for it or not, there was 3 minutes left and you should be able to run whatever offense you want. I don't mind having the odd ******* on the team, sometimes they can fire the team up, sometimes they might fire the opposition up. I would rather the trash talker than the guys going for cheap shots like GSW were.
I pointed out in another thread here that Beverley was known as the dirtiest player in all of Europe. Rockets fans have really seen nothing yet of his behavior. He's actually purposely injured guys right during games. I've seen him grab guys and throw them into tables and chairs. He really is a very dirty payer.
