Until he has to go against those elite bigs of the West, like LMA, then he disappears. That's why Dragic or a good PG on this team could have put us over the top. We would have another point of attack other than Harden and to a lesser extent, Howard. The bench did well because they were able to force TOs against TOR and run. What happens when you have superior shooting teams like GSW, LAC, POR, CLE or ATL who don't turn the ball over? Where will the points come from?
Beverly got off to a pretty solid start. Over his first 10 games he was shooting 44% and 47% from 3. Over the last 33 he is shooting 36% and 32% from 3. He has been an absolute disaster on offense. Defensively he has the rep of being an intense irritant, but his defensive real plus minus wouldn't suggest he is much better. Terry + 0.58 Prigioni + 0.33 Harden + 0.27 Beverly - 0.92 Canaan - 0.93 Now these number can be flawed, I actually think he is the best defender of the 5. But it just shows that his defensive impact is typically minimal, and his offensive impact is a major negative. Harden needs guys that can consistently hit the 3, and he can't do it right now. Him and Prigioni need to be given equal court time IMO until one of them proves to be the better option.
Corey Brewer was playing PG in Minnesota with mixed results, not to mention college. Maybe with Harden helping him out he could succeed.
Lin goes for 18 and 11.. next game ... benched by Byron Scott.. Lin being benched has nothing to do with HIS performance.
Last year.. back to back games(losses) against the grizz... Beverley shoots 1 for 11 with 2 assists in 30+ minutes... GARBAGE.. starts the next game... damn near same results... BUT ITS COOL!!! HE BRINGS THAT HUSTLE THO!!! LMAO.. Its like watching one of those touching stories where a pro athlete comes and plays with a mentally or phyisically challenged person... and everyone cheers for him like actually won something... LMAO.. BEVERLEY IS TRASH
His defense last night was way better than it has been. If he could keep that up and break out of whatever offensive slump he's in over the next couple of weeks, that'd be great.
Patrick Beverley isn't that bad for the Rockets. Harden is the best distributor on the team and does well with the ball in his hands so that he control when he gets teammates involved (which he is very good at) and when he needs to take over the game on his own. So a great distributing PG isn't that necessary. Beverley at times this year has been a huge strong 3pt. shooter for the team. Obviously when he can do that he helps the team. At times during his career he's been excellent at defending which is also important for the team. Whether he's doing those things or not Patrick Beverley brings a toughness and fearlessness that is lacking on any other player for the team. He brings that to the team no matter what and that's something valuable. Yes, it is a negative when he isn't hitting the 3's or when his defense isn't at its best. But it isn't like he doesn't bring something valuable to the Rockets. He does. Would I like an upgrade at PG? Absolutely. Do I hate having Beverley on the team or believe that the mere subtraction of Beverley would elevate the team? Hell no. The Rockets are a top team with Beverley as their starting PG and have been all year except when he's been injured.
Just ignore this guy, he won't be around long. He's trolled a couple of threads in the Texans forum too.
If you watch PB dribble..you would notice the following: He does one dribble, then jump twice in joy. Dribble a little bit then next move to get rid of the ball is.. to make unnecessary pass, of late pass, or wait for a rescue
