But...that's not what he pointed out. That's not even what he said. In fact, he even had a follow up post explaining how that's not what he said. /facepalm

I had a "minor" meniscus tear about a year ago and never got surgery, I still feel pain in the knee, if I play basketball it swells incredibly, Beverly is an absolute animal and we are so lucky to have him.

More is going on between management and Bev. I don't know of a situation where a high level athelete plays with a torn meniscus. I have one, i am not am athelete, but afer hard exercize I am in a good deal of pain. We ared not being told the whole story.

Synergy data using PPP as a measure has Lin as just as effective defensively as Beverley.

I seriously wonder who diagnosed it as a meniscus tear? When it sounds like he bumped knees.

Literally the EXACT same thing happened to my older son this year. Bumped knees in his second to last game of the regular season...bumped hard and his knee collapsed and made hard impact with the court. He had to be helped off the court. That was on a Wednesday.

On Friday, a doctor threw out the torn meniscus diagnosis...said that's what he thought it was. Gave me a brace for him to wear to keep him from moving it too much.

The following Monday we went to a specialist who said it was badly bruised...that there was no damage to meniscus...that he definitely should NOT be wearing a brace, but should be up moving it around to get back mobility. Told me he could play as soon as he felt like he could, because nothing structural was holding him back; just pain.

He played in his final game that Wednesday and was there for AAU tryouts that following Saturday.

We were driving to school today and hearing about it on the radio...we were both amazed at the similarities.

He does wear knee pads now, though :)

You can tear the meniscus from bumping knees. If your knee is bent and you get bumped causing even the slightest twisting motion and pop.

My 11 year old is in a similar situation right now, he went down in the soccer game on Sunday with severe pain on both the inside and outside of the knee, doctors have looked at it, have him in a brace - and he has a precautionary MRI scheduled for this week.

However, he hurt it originally about a month ago in basketball and while it may have felt better, it was probably not fully healed.
