The timetable he said was anywhere from 10 days to 4 weeks.

Beverley also said he was fine the night after the injury. He's an optimist, but not a doctor.

I'm sure he feels good because he's in great shape, so he's got strong muscles and ligaments that really help keep that knee in place, but what about when he's tired and turning things up the length of the court? What about at minute 47 or 52 in OT?

I don't see how that's even possible if it's an actual tear

This provides an excellent opportunity for Lin to gain some confidence and play some heavy minutes. Bev is an important part of our team, and he makes us better no doubt. We'll take a hit in terms of "intensity," but giving Lin a larger role will bring new things to the table.

The differential in defense is overstated, but that's not to say there is none. Lin doesn't have as many "wow" plays on defense as Beverley in terms of strips, big rebounds, and energy plays, but that doesn't mean he is wholly ineffective. People pick apart a few possessions where he loses his man and over helps, but as a defender, he is generally solid and can't be "picked on" in terms of matchups. Bev is great for "momentum" swinging plays and gambles, and he gets beat more often than his reputation suggests.

On offense, I think Beverley's floor spacing will be missed. Yes, Bev has come a long way in terms of 3pt shooting, especially in recent games. Lin will help collapse the defense much better and give the team a secondary playmaker who can beat his man off the bounce.

The issue of a weaker bench is definitely an issue, but I think you can stagger Lin/Harden/Parsons in such a way that you still get optimal playmaking on the floor. Not too worried, but no doubt it will take a hit.

At the end of the day, Bev is like a Derek Fisher/Chuck Hayes/Roy Hibbert kind of player. His impact goes beyond stats, making his impact difficult to categorize. The eyeball test will overstate his effectiveness while stats will understate it. The only thing that is certain is that we are better when he is healthy, so please get healthy soon!
