Couldn't agree more but it's sad you have to remind people. Quit judging the team like they've been through a whole preseason together w/o any setbacks or as if McGrady and Yao are not recovery from their surgeries. Judge this team at the all-star break. Bunch of chicken littles around here.
Under JVG, we sucked on offense, but at least we were spectacular on defense. Right now, we suck at both. The offense is 10x worse than it was under JVG. Les wanted a Suns type offense, and he got some discombobulated crap. Why hire a coach where it takes two seasons to get comfortable with his offense when our window is closing fast for a championship? JVG's influence is waning. The only reason why our defense was good last year is cuz it carried over from the previous year. Now its completely lost. We are not an elite defensive team.
Great post DD, I agree 100%. This team have always been a slow starter. And they definately need time to gel. If we are still playing like this in the next 30 games then Ill be worry.
Be Patient and Don't Overreact Let's not make any bashing or blaming threads or posts. Yes, it was a painful loss, but let's not overreact. It's one game, we're still 4-3. We have to realize that this team is a work in progress, and needs time for them to get settled in to Adelman's systems. There's gonna be the struggles and the woes at the start of the season, but after some time we should see the team starting to progress. For example, last season, the team had a losing record before mid-January, but then after the team started to finally get used to each other and to Rick Adelman's system, the offense was more fluid then ever, the defense was ever so strong, and we went on an incredible run. So don't set your expectations so high for the start of the season, as our Big 3 have only played 6 or 7 games with each other total, and they don't have much chemistry going with each other yet. This type of problem just takes time and work. The potential of this team is so high, and I understand with Artest added to the team you should be thinking that we'd be a bit better, but that's not the case. It's a team sport, and it takes time to settle chemistry issues. Also, I feel that Battier was one of our key players to last year's winning streak, and that he was a large part of the team's success. He led the defense, which had us winning those games, and boosted the great team chemistry we had on that run. Once he gets settled in, I think the team will start to look a little bit better. So hold in the pain of seeing our team going through some painful losses as we saw tonight, and just be concerned if we don't see the team starting to progress over these next couple of months. Also, don't forget, we're supporters of the Rockets, and not against them. The only people I should see dissing our players and saying that they suck should be people from the opposing teams. For a Rockets' fan to be insulting our players more than fans from other teams do isn't a good thing. The players need our support more than they need our unneccessary disses and insults as an addition to the ones they get from opposing teams' fans. Support our team and players when they struggle, as loyal fans do. Loyal fans stick through through the hard times, and the players come through in the end with our support. We're the only support they have, and let's show them we support them by being patient.
I'm not even slightly angry about this game. Really. This game has told me it's time to take a step back and let the team work out it's issues. The 3-0 start spoiled us. We're not even a good team yet, much less championship material. We've been given a strong new piece and we aren't 100%. I am personally willing to give this team time because (1) I think they deserve it and (2) there's nothing I nor anyone can do about it so might as well support them. What is complaing and asking for trades that will not happen going to do?
You mean patient like Tracy was the last two games? He was being so patient that the game ended before he could do anything. Thanks, I will be patient like Tracy McGrady.
i started the "admit it, you were wrong about adelman" thread last tear. if you'll remember back... we started the year with some early season ugly losses. we had a poor record and pretty much everyone wanted his head. last year taught me - adelman is a very empowering type of coach - one who let's the game come to his team. he doesn't force or overcoach players. he is letting the team chemistry grow on its own - and in its own time. the rockets will come screaming through second half as the pieces start to click. and come playoff time this team will be ready to rumble. this team is to be feared.
Yep,we're just overreacting to tonight's loss. There're still 75 games to go,no big deal because I believe they will bounce back from tonight's blowout. Mac need to rehab on his knee more and Yao should pay more attention to cause of his shooting woes. We will get the team together finally, and at that time when we face off w/ the Fakers, I have faith in our Rockets that it would be a revenge on them, book it. anyway, good thread DD.AND good night.I gonna have a good sleep.
so typical...someone actually tries to be a mature and rational fan but still has to get 2 jackass posts from brooksball and madmax
Be patient with us jackasses. Don't overreact to us jackasses. By the way, have you ever been to a sports-related forum without its share of jackasses or are you just new to this internets thing? Either way, welcome.
Although I can't tell the future, this has been happening the last few seasons. The team gets off to a not-so-great start, the BBS is ready to call the season a failure, then the team starts to win. I'm hoping it happens again, except with a different outcome in the post-season.
this is what i'm concerned with. how is tracy playing through his injuries going to help his injuries heal? until he is healed, i don't think he'll be the same player we saw last year. is he going to continually heal through the season? i don't see it.. i think he'll be this way for a while until something happens and he's got to sit out an extended amount of time. i see this only as a matter of time.
