Being completely honest , joining the bandwagon the year Akeem was drafted was the beginning of the best of times ....

The real dark days were mostly before that , pretty much anything before 1980 - then the year they traded Malone to Philly & the two years before Akeem where they won 14 & 29 games.
I don't know if there was anything more depressing as a Rockets fan than that Malone trade other than maybe that 86 team that got broke up with Wiggins & Lloyd and their drug use. Trading Harden away hasn't felt near as painful .... maybe because that situation had run its course and there was no way left to improve the team around him. Big difference in the salary cap era in that aspect.

Since then CD , Steve Patterson & Morey had kept the team highly competitive cept for a couple of years. They always seemed to be able to find a new star to build around after Hakeem. Francis - Yao , McGrady , Harden ...

On a micro-level, observers of the Houston Rockets, particularly fans, are already harboring their own overreactions. Let’s go through some of the more well known ones.

    Rockets Overreactions
    1. The Rockets shouldn’t have picked Jalen Green
    […]
    2. It’s time for Houston to move on from Stephen Silas
    […]
    3. Alperen Sengun is the next Nikola Jokic
[…] Like when fans compared Kevin Porter Jr. to James Harden last season, you’re probably going to be disappointed when you compare a young player to a hall of famer right off the bat.
