I guess NBA fixed. Otherwise how Rockets pays $8M to Theis and $10M to Tate when NBA champion Bjelica (6'10") was available for $2M and Nicola Mirotic (also 6'10")plays for $5M.

What Theis or Tate can give more than Bjelica-Mirotic.

Pat Riley pays around 1.5M/year for certain players where Rox would pay 10 times more for them.Someone has to wake-up Tilman (if he is not part of the network).

I'm of the belief that KPj can improve his trajectory similar to that
of Fox, SGA and DeJounte Murray. If given the chance.

NBA players position by rule is who they defend. I don't put
Sengun vs PF intentionally. I put Sengun as center.
PF's offensively need to shoot 3's imo. Sengun struggles
with that at the moment. Safe label is Sengun at Center.

I have Sengun bumped to the bench much like Jokic had to do this
past playoff run vs the Warriors (First Round). I have athletic, mobile,
versatile Centers that first and foremost protect the rim and rebound.
Defend the interior well as with perimeter.

I think we are finally moving EG this year regardless.

 

I expected this type of play to start around a week before all-star break. They are playing like they are a month or so ahead of schedule.

 

Keep in mind the Rockets have played two teams under .500 in 19 games. 2.

 

We hope to see progress this season but still be pretty bad record wise.

Wouldn't mind throwing a max at Jerami Grant, Myles Turner or trading for Ayton for 2023.

Are you confusing Conference Finals with NBA Finals? Which they did go to two Conference Finals in past three seasons

Sadly, the only free agents that seem even remotely attractive in the 2023 class is Harden and Van Vleet.

 

Sorry man but I don't think anyone thought the players were far off. It's the coaching that is the problem.

 

Agreed. The only reason we get Wemby or Scoot and make a playoff run is if KPJ in year 4, Jalen and Sengun in year 3 and Smith and Tari in year 2 have matured to a point of being near the upper echelon of their positions which is what is expected of them in their prime.

IF (big if) those 4 guys are around Top 10 of their respective positions then adding a Wemby or Scoot would definitely vault them into the Top 8 of the west.

I believe that's why these young guys are getting so much burn. To speed up their progression and hope they can draft one of the big difference makers of the next draft.

Tilman hates to lose but has bought into the tank process fully since it's cheap and the long term gains are potentially huge. Dudes a gambler for sure.

 

I assume you are implying that Sengun is already near the upper echelon of his position, since you are not mentioning him.
