Since we all know the home-team announcers are the most credible source for trade news. If all we got for Mcgrady was Jermaine O'neal I'd be fairly disappointed. His contract has more value than that. We should at least net a decent first round pick, if nothing else.
TM for JO... both have expiring contracts coming off the books... Andersen can come off the bench. Git r done Morey..
I am all for it. JO fills a huge hole in the middle and immediately make us that much more competitive with teams with size like Dallas and the Lakers.
IMO if Riley is after McGrady he's not sending O'Neal in return. Riley will be doing it to bolster their playoff chances for this season. That's his M.O. The latest on the Heat-Rockets rumor come from ESPN... http://twitter.com/RicBucher/status/6754070327 http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/11579/more-on-tracy-mcgradys-comeback-knicks-want-him
I'm not saying the Heat-Rockets rumor is real, but as far as Bucher's posted comment about how the teams didn't discuss blah-blah-blah, well, they ALWAYS say that. Deny, deny, deny. Until a trade happens, nothing is gonna happen, so why get any players involved all worked up over it? I kinda wish it would happen, this trade. Makes sense putting Tmac in Florida. Give us a season rental of Jermaine. But ONLY IF we can pry Miami's 1st rounder from them, hell, return Jermaine Taylor to Florida in the deal and send us Cook, who had a solid workout for the Rockets (whichever draft that was). This trade, if at all real, would have been consummated but Morey does have to show, See? McGrady's worth more than O'Neal. Now, GIMME that draft pick; or do you want Wade to leave?
No, he is as good as last year. He's tired of being almost 80% of their entire offense, wouldn't you get tired of doing everything for your employer and not receiving anything in compensation? (playoffs/wins) That's what he's going thru and what he's feeling like. He wants others to step up and win games also be leaders.
I would hate for that trade to happen. JO would never fit in with the Rockets. He has always been extremely overrated and never shows up on most days and not to mention his defense is terrible... id rather just keep t-mac or trade him for some young guys on the heat and draft picks and find a way to get rid of brian cook.
lol, watch the games. he's clearly not the same player as last year. his jumper is broke; it's as bad as it was in his first few years in the L for some reason. his penetration game is still on point, but the reason wade exploded with 30pts per game last year was b/c of his improved jumper. that's not the case this year. i watch enough games of the heat this year to see wade is clearly not the same player. hopefully he gets more consistent b/c he is an exciting player to watch.
we should get jermaine oneal, start him, then put jermaine taylor in the starting lineup, then get 3 more guys named jermaine and feature the NBA's first All-Jermaine starting lineup!
What I'm thinking too. But if you want salaries to match, then Miami's only other choice would be a package of players that includes Richardson and Haslem. This would definitely be awesome for the Rockets, since we save double the salary difference due to luxury tax payouts. But Miami's basically getting one rotation player for two. So they'd really have to be certain that TMac actually doesn't suck.
Since I'm in Miami for 3 months. I went to the Heat/Magic game last night as well. Firstly, it was awesome seeing DWade, DHoward, and VCarter in person! I don't hardly go to see games live, so it's almost always a shock to me to see them in person. They're not as intimidating in person actually. The whole thing reminded me of a really good game between guys at a gym or outdoor court, except they were really tall. To me, it feels more glorified and exciting on TV, so I actually prefer to watch sports on the TV. Secondly, AAArena is a great venue! It's really nice inside and out with the lighting, architecture, layout, and food offerings. As a native Houstonian for 17 years, I've never been to Toyota Center, but I did go to the Compaq Center and wasn't impressed. Thirdly, Wade played like his usual self to me. He had 25 pts. and more than 5 rebounds (can't recall). He played well from the 1st to 4th quarter. This time though, his supporting cast helped him alot, especially Beasley. He played great! O'Neal did not impress me at all. Whatever he was doing on the court, Landy and Scola do better. I don't think he will be coming to the Rockets for McGrady, that would just be an awful trade for us. I would take Beasley though!
we dont need jermaine at all, he would only suck up the minutes of scola, hayes and landry... lets hope for something better than that
