As much as I liked seeing Mac play tonight, it kinda sucks that Tracy's career is at coming off MFS and playing 8 mins. off the bench. If it get no better than that soon in Houston then I wouldn't mind seeing him in Miami where you know they will play him.
I don't see trading Tmac for just Jermaine O'Neal. I give Tracy props for coming back quickly, and think he'll have more game than Jermaine O'Neal. The Rockets would look pretty dumb if Tmac goes on a tear. What, will Morey wear a shirt that says, "I traded Tmac for Jermaine O'Neal and all I got was this T-shirt"? So, why not just keep Tracy? Because he isn't going to be on this team past this year anyway. I'm sure Riley is interested in McGrady for McGrady himself, but maybe he wants to know if Tmac is ready to go to that third team to bring Dwade his true happiness (Utah for Boozer? whomever?) But a healthy Tmac in his native Florida playing with Dwade would be a decided upgrade. But I'd still aim for Beasley, giving Miami one of our lesser players, if any of this were true.
3-way trade. Example, Haslem could start on the Blazers right now and James Jones had a successful stint in Portland with Roy & Aldridge a couple of years ago. Jones helped key their defense back then. Blazers just need some healthy bodies... The above scenario can work if: 1.Rockets waive Cook. Blazers agree to pick his contract up off waivers. 2.Rockets send Blake to Miami via a TE (from Banks trade) 3.Rockets send Dorsey to Miami via TE (from Livingston trade) Q-Rich's expiring contract can sit on the bench. Rudy, Outlaw, and Mills are all injured long term. All are good trade assets that are easier to work with than McGrady's $23M.
I think that Adelman is pretty happy with the direction that the Rockets are going right now. Fitting Tracy into the current fast pace style is a task that Adelman might not want to do. Getting Jermaine O'Neal would give the Rockets height in the paint, which is something that they lack. His contract ends next year just like McGrady's.
I don't think they gon be trading Wade, other than O'neil, I dont think they'll offer any other players...in my opinion
O'Neal has declined but he's good enough and has helped improve Miami this season. If they're after McGrady they're reloading for the playoffs, ie O'Neal's staying IMO.
Tmac trained this summer with D Wade. I'm sure Wade knows what kind of shape Tmac is in and he let Riley in on it. Rockets are too stubborn to play their superstar, so I'm sure Miami would love to have him based on some good recommendations from Wade.
Only way I would agree is if we get a couple first round picks, because everyone on their roster outside of wade is gar-bage.
Ok if we are going to deal with Miami I really think a 3rd team would need to get involved sooo.... Rox get Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy, Miami's 1st rd pick - Adelman's type of BIG and Swingman only 2 yr contracts so not that long of a commitment. Heat gets TMAC - Riley gets his guy Pacers gets Haslem, QRich and Wright - Three expiring contracts to help their financial situation
Did you watch the game? Tim "Shamwow" Grover said he was ready to play on opening night. T-Mac clearly isn't ready. My guess is late-January until we see him able to play starting minutes.
we could get jermaine oneal though since we need a decent center right now and he had been playing good recently
Beasley can play small forward. He reminds me a lot of Glenn Robinson. A pure scorer. McGrady + Cook for Beasley +O'Neal. I'd do it but I'd rather trade with the Warriors.
Anyone in the right mind knows by trading T-Mac to Miami the best player you're going to get is Jermaine O'Neal. Stop thinking about Wade/Beasley/Chalmers or even a first round pick.
I'd love this deal......but, why would Indiana take that deal??? Really? I mean look at it again. C'mon. Pacers side would need to be severly sweetened.
And....why would Portland even consider losing 4 rotational players and being forced to take on cook's contract?
