He's extremely raw and got drafted as a project QB. The jury is still out on Cardale, good or bad. To say that he's going to be bad is premature at this time just like saying that he's going to be good is. Bottom line is we don't know yet and making predictions like you did based off little evidence only makes yourself look foolish.

Haven't watched him play. What makes him different from past Tech QBs who put up big numbers but weren't necessarily good prospects (Kliff Kingsbury, Graham Harrell, BJ Symons, Seth Doge).

He wasn't even a competent college QB, but by all means, think that he's going to magically turn into an NFL QB one day. It would go right in line with other ridiculous hot takes you drop in this forum.

It doesn't matter how he did in college mainly because he was drafted as a developmental project QB. That implies that he is not a finished product and has a LOT of development to make.

Shieeett..... Brandon "Da Gawd" Weeden is now preparing to suit up for an NFL Playoff game. It was once said by an NFL owner that he threw the most beautiful spiral in all the land.

Bobbythegreat is a well known hater. Pay him no mind. Calling an undefeated college QB incompetent. What nerve!

He did well against Sam Houston two years ago so, you know, that's something.

Would love to get Mahomes. The only thing is it'd have to be in the 1st round. The evaluators gave him a late 1st-early 2nd grade and we all know how QB's get over drafted. He's obviously not close to a finished product but is said to be very intelligent and the talent is out of the roof. Trubisky, Watson then Mahomes would be my 1-3 but I could easily see Mahomes rise to a top 10 pick depending on combine/pro day performances. Poor QB class but Mahomes has Matt Stafford potential.

I've seen Trubisky, Watson, Kizer and others being projected to go ahead of him. All of them will not go in the 1st. I think he will be around when we pick 3rd round. Of course things can change. The highest I see him probably going is second round.

But just in case he is gone when our 3rd round pick comes around, my plan B would be Luke Falk.

Faulk is returning to school. There's a lot of hype surrounding Davis Webb also, he and Mahomes probably have the strongest arms in the draft FWIW.

    Using those highlight vids...

What I really liked, strong arm, accuracy in the pocket and on the move, and nice soft touch in screen game.

What I really hated, he missed or didn't take easy checkdowns so many times. Instead went off schedule to look for bigger plays. Looks out of control at times.

He kinda looks like a bigger, stronger, version of Johnny Football without the aholeness. I guess that's good and bad.

I'm a Red Raider also, and also biased, but this kid is not Kliff Kingsbury. His arm talent, mechanics and athleticism would translate to any offense, IMO. That being said, the air raid offense has like 7 routes on its route tree. Kliff's first year @ tech, they didn't even use a playbook... partly because he wanted the offense to be "memorized" and therefore innate to everyone, but that will only work if the plays your run are simple AF and there aren't many of them. Going from that to BOB's "extremely complicated" offense would be really difficult. He'd need a year (probably two) to get that down. I think BOB would have to adjust his offense a bit according to Pat's talents, too (i.e. incorporate some air raid/spread option philosophies).

I personally believe in the kid. I think his talent is too good to pass up. But it has to be done right... I think with Brock and Savage here under contract for next season, we're in a unique position to keep the kid on the bench for a year... although that's another year that we potentially waste J.J. Watt's (likely diminishing) talents. Who knows though... never would've thought that Dak Prescott would be wreckin shop this season.

So how about we draft two O-linemen in first two rounds and pick up Mahomes in the 3rd?

Exactly what I was thinking. Be sure to fix that offensive line first.

I'd take him with our 3rd rounder, after Tackle and LB and with the condition that these "the Great", "Savior" thread titles get removed. Away with the bad ju-ju

Let's take a QB in rounds 1-4. Take the shotgun approach.

After Savage reportedly looked better in camp but we rolled with Osweiler for 14 games anyway, do you trust this team to play the best QB regardless of where they were they were drafted?
