noo bro, i was talking about malcolm brogdan....who looks like he has a really bright future in the league
https://www.google.com/amp/s/fiveth...nals-record-isnt-really-a-disappointment/amp/ You're right actually, Mavs was the only time. He has faced better competition in the finals. Agreed that interconference competition was weaker but Jordan fan would never bring that up in the discussion because Jordan got swept in early rounds and missed the finals much more than LeBron did.
But we have the opportunity to get more talent, much more talent, and people are in here saying we shouldn't because we lose "heart and grit"
those spurs teams that lebron has faced are good without a doubt. i'd probably have to dive a little deeper but those bulls teams have really played some very good teams in their own right with a ton of greats. just didn't really see it as unquestionably
Well for one, saying other than the Warriors teams overlooks 3 teams. And I'd rate all three teams ahead of any Finals team MJ faced. Then you are talking about 3 Spurs teams, ALL of which were VERY VERY good. As with the Warriors, even the Spurs team that Lebron beat. For example, take a look at this power ranking of the 14 Finals teams http://houston.cbslocal.com/2017/05...nd-michael-jordans-nba-finals-opponents-1-14/ Which is arguable a spot here or there, but imo is realtively spot on.
I agree with you in that case, but I thought your posts were getting a bit extreme regarding the value of toughness, heart and grit.
Oh, right... haha. Maker was drafted high. Now I remember... everyone was surprised Maker was drafted so high.... right. Yeah, Brogdon is pretty solid. But you can probably buy a 2nd round pick whenever you want... It's about probabilities. But noted, the Bucks have drafted pretty well lately. Didn't some of their front office go to the Hawks?
Bulls/Bucks/Raptors/Jazz would be my guess if we trade Bev for a 1st. Between 16-24. If we attach other pieces (Gordon?), perhaps the Pistons at 12.
Monta Ellis was traded for Bogut, a former number one overall pick, and Stephen Jackson. Do you think we are getting a former number one overall pick for Bev? You are hyping up Bev's value over Ellis in 2012 yet you don't even think he's valuable enough for another team, that will likely have cap space, to extend him? Why do you think this is an irrational comparison again? Oh I remember now, cause "grit".
NY has the 8th pick, weren't they interested in both Beverley (two years ago) and Gordon (last summer)?
Mental toughness is important in any competition. But you need skills to go with it. Put MJ with all of his mental toughness in the pool against Michael Phelps and he has no chance. It is a factor, but it is given far too much weight frequently when there are other, more comprehensive explanations for things that are being attributed to "heart/grit".
With the Lakers trade just now, they now have the #27 and #28 pick. I don't think there's anyway they give up the #2 pick or Ingram. Would they move Randle + a late pick? Maybe. Probably prefer to move Clarkson plus a late pick. So is Clarkson + #27 + #28 Better than Ariza, Williams, Dekker and whatever pick PBev can get I know EG has been rumored, but got to imagine DM would prefer to hang onto EG as opposed to Ariza. So DM is probabl searching for as good a pick for Bev as possible.
"What are your thoughts on the Beverly stuff? Seems weird to me to openly want to trade him(rumored)"
