Bev wants to get paid, and he deserves it. He's probably requiring any trading team to guarantee him his extension
Kevin Durant got flamed for lacking heart all year. Cupcake Tin man Coward etc.. How did that turn out for him?
definitely isn't a good thing when he sees mediocre players making double digit salaries, mainly due to dumb decisions by organizations
end up with better than 2 years of Bev? Yes. I think I can get that or better value at 17. The scouting department has been doing a pretty good job.
You won't be pleased with anything other than a narrative based response. Which evidently is all you're capable of conceptualizing. Also why you're attempting to negate a universal premise with an anecdotal example You've clearly watched Hoosiers a few too many times to have this discussion constructively.
Totally, scrubs like Mathew Dellavedova making almost $40mill on 4 year contract has to eat at him big time
u have no basis for saying that about Paul George... Chris Paul is injury prone, but I really don't care. We have enough role players, get some stars in here.
@DonKnock is right. Fan favorites in all sports get traded/released all of the time. I have loved Bev's game since he got here and took Lin's job, but it would be dumb of Marley to appeal to the fans by keeping Bev around, if he can upgrade the roster. That said, if Bev is gone, we better re-sign Nene. We will need someone with that fire.
Lol no it isn't. MJ never went into a finals as a betting underdog. LeBron has never lost a finals as the betting favorite. LeBron faced better competition than Jordan did, that's why his record in finals is more similar to Magic's who similarly had to play against equal/superior competition.
Lebron has never lost as a favorite? he lost in Miami against Dallas in 2011. They were -180 while Dallas was +160 not sure how Lebron has faced better competition when the east has been a joke for many years
He took the easy way out and got rewarded for it. I'd say he is still a cupcake, but that's just me. We don't have that luxury. And still, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. All being equal, you need both.
Beverley's situation reminds me of Kyle Lowry when he got traded: Useful player on cheap contract for a couple more seasons. Has value.
Lol. I actually really like Thon Maker and his upside, but no, Thon was not better than PBev as of yet. Plus Thon is older...
Lebron has unquestionably face better competition in the Finals. But the path to the Finals has been relatively weak. I'd say their competition overall is about equal all things said and done... BUT the fact that Lebron's finals opponents have been tougher means I don't palce any more value on 6-0 than I do 3-5
other than these warriors teams idk. hes had to face some great teams with greats that have won 60+ games. not exactly unquestionably
HOOSIERS!!!! This guy is corny. You just compared Monta to PB because they were "fan favorites" despite being two totally different players. I would love to see the trade market for Monta compared to PB. You take quote,"playing the right way" thinking Im some Hoosiers loving midwesterner. MDA & JVG and many other coaches always make it a point to praise PB, with quotes of "Making Winning Plays". But who knows, they might watch Hoosiers on repeat. You never answered the question, what happen in game 6? PB who was perfectly happy with his role, loves the city, loves the coach, now is open to being traded? Why? No team in their right mind would extend him.
The "right" way is whatever way gets us wins and a championship. Also players are pieces and unless they're legit superstars you don't fall in love with them. This isn't a company with 100 employees. It's a basketball team with 8-10 dudes. Harden is the only untouchable, trade everyone else for another star if need be and have that star also learn how to get fouled on 3's. I thoroughly enjoy watching Harden game the system with his fouls after watching other teams do the same to us with Hack a Dwight. Zero sympathy.
