    how the hell can someone not sentence to death or atleast life sentence for that? I find that kind of bs weak-minded law more shocking then the incest tbh.

    While it surely is a heinous offense, I don't find capital punishment justified. 8 years does seem like a light punishment, especially considering the sexual abuse took place over the course of a decade.

    One reason the sentence was only 8 1/2 years is because the daughters are 29 & 31 years old now and the incest stopped 6 years ago. I bet if they caught him while the girls were still teenagers he would have gotten much longer.

    It could be that they were embarrassed to tell anyone when they were younger. I mean imagine how people at school would react to this. Kids are mean.

    I served on a jury that gave a man 20 years for raping a little girl who was not related to him one time, over a decade prior. 8.5 years seems woefully inadequate.

    And the Bible outlaws incest in Leviticus in some detail. I'm curious to know what denomination of fundamentalist this man might be. Is it the sort that doesn't read the Old Testament?
