quoted for truth. If a senator goes over there they will be shown whatever dog and pony show the Pentagon wants them to see. It's absolutely laughable that anyone would believe that they see the "real Iraq" when they go over there.
Gentlemen, you'll be happy to know that I took the time and trouble to bold the important portions of this post for you - I leave you to discuss said bolded portions, my own commentary not being necessary, despite my important duty of saving the free world via my Clutchfans BBS postings: This thread sucks like most of basso's threads.
Books like this are to supporting the troops what lapel flag pins are to patriotism. Showy vapid empty displays of self-congratulatory self righteousness do not equal supporting the troops. Turning real soldiers into some sort of GI Joe homoerotic military fetish ideal so you can spank one off to America does not equal supporting the troops. We’ve been over this before. For you supporting the troops equals occasional empty gestures and statements when it suits you to pull it out and act holier-than-thou without actually having to do anything and without actually giving a rats ass about the real human beings. Supporting the troops for you is a lapel flag pin political maneuver. Don't you try to lecture me about supporting the troops.
For someone who won't respond to questions, points of discussion that differ from your own view, you sure do ask a lot of questions.
You haven't read it either, just like you haven't read Douglas Feith's book (or even apparently know who he was) so what's the point of asking this question?
to clean up george bush's mess, notice how the gold posts moving. to claim that more troops were needed, is to claim that your support of gwb the first three years of the war was a disaster. so mccain now is supposed to get credit for cleaning up his and the rest of the neocon's mess, and he supposed to be the better judgement leader, if you forgive the initial mulligan.
1. Never mix your metaphors 2. It's "goal" post not gold post 3. A Mullligan is a do-over. A second Mulligan would be cheating.
I know this all from reading, "Der Befehl des Gewissens" by Hans Zoberlein. The book also makes clear that you are an empty Republican mouthpiece, and George Bush is the Antichrist. Have you read the book? No? Ha, ha! Since you haven't read it you can't contradict me, so poop on you. You have to accept what I say about it as 100% fact, beyond reproach. You can't read any of the reviews or synopsis. Until you read the book (only published in German) you have to are required by the rules of internet debate to admit that you are wrong about everything I say. See, I can play that game too.
except, if you haven't noticed, i haven't said what the book says. i'm suggesting you read it yourself, and figure out, again for yourself, what is says. can't really have a debate about the issues it raises until both parties have at least read the thing.
And I told you I won't read your reading list until you read mine. But you don't even want to aknowledge that I exist when I say something that you don't want to hear. You appear to have serious control issues.
So I take it you have enlisted because you want to take part in the Victorious cakewalk that is the rebuilding of Iraq. Way to put your money where your mouth is.
Through every post touting your new hero, Mr. Yon, and through those same posts that show absolutely zero change in your thoughts on the war, you are broadcasting in stereo what the book says.
"Moreover, if we quickly succeed in a war against the weakened and depleted fourth rate military of Iraq and then quickly abandon that nation as President Bush has abandoned Afghanistan after quickly defeating a fifth rate military there, the resulting chaos could easily pose a far greater danger to the United States than we presently face from Saddam. We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country. We have no evidence, however, that he has shared any of those weapons with terrorist group. However, if Iraq came to resemble Afghanistan – with no central authority but instead local and regional warlords with porous borders and infiltrating members of Al Qaeda than these widely dispersed supplies of weapons of mass destruction might well come into the hands of terrorist groups. " Al Gore September 2002 If we end the war in Iraq, the way we ended the war in Afghanistan, we could easily be worse off than we are today."
