This will only happen if the NBA changes the CBA to take away a team's right of first refusal after the 4 years is up. Also, NY will be under the cap just around the time the national deficit is wiped out.

If Yao has to give 50 percent of his income to China, you better believe he will sign a max deal after his third year.

I don't like this thread, any chance you could bring back the thread after they drafted Yao. Some people in here must have been upset :)

Bad day for Crash...first the shenanigans in the Texans game thread and now a bump on a thread in which literally everything he said was proven completely wrong. Just like the game thread, heh. :p

I dunno. I think we should take a risk on Yao. Looks like he has some speed for his size and can shoot a bit (mid range?).

    We can rebuild around him.

I deeply respect and admire Yao, but Amare would have been the better selection given what we now know.

Amare' wouldn't have gotten us to the second round.

    Thats a fact.

I seriously doubt t-mac would force a trade here for amare. Yao had the potential to be the best center in the league.

    That's in hind-hind sight.

4-5 years ago Yao was considered the most dominant center in the league, at worst second behind Shaq.

I mean at one point in their career, whiles Amare was having a micro fracture, Yao was dominating the league.
