He passed it to him, they just need time to find out how to work together, and will take off....

This is an amazingly bad knee jerk thread......just turrible.

    BTW Martin was 5-14 tonight.......

My bad, Martin does have handles. However, he is a true shooting guard who's known for his ability to score rather than facilitate. Having Martin and Brooks on together is redundant.

I noticed the same thing. Brooks was really hogging the ball and throwing up some wack shots instead of passing to Martin

I am fully, very, aware of aaron leading us in points. its the most glazing problem on the team. higher ppg does not mean he should be the no.1 target we go to for scoer. actually before landry was the no.1 option mostly (per minute landry scores a lot higher) and landry scored with more frequency. so its stupid how aaron still thought he was no.1 on this team. and then now kmart, one of the most efficient scorers in nba histroy, is on the team, and still aaron chucks up 20+ shots per game while ignoring a player who could be the best scorer on any team in the league apart from the superstars

I was knocked out for most of the second half so I guess I wouldn't know.

I'd give Brooks-Martin duo the remainder of the season and see how it goes. If they don't look like they are jelling then something (doesn't mean a trade) should be done with Brooks. Got to remember that next year could potentially be Yao's last season here in Houston...go with the best team possible.

Anyways, the drugs seem to be getting to me...I'm out. ;)

9-22 - not great......but he did have 8 assists....and many more set ups....some careless turnovers for sure...but he did not stink out there.

    Heck Kobe was 9-23 tonight.....

They could probably run more offensive sets for Martin and will probably do so in the future. In the first half, Martin did get some open looks and passes that allowed him to shoot in rhythm; he just missed them, that's all.

I think he's still tentative and is missing shots I believe he normally makes. Instead of settling for jump shots, I'd like to see him be more consistenly aggressive and drive into defenders, like he did in the second half of this game.

But I'm seeing improvements made in the last two games, and expect it to continue.

I'm convinced any one that brings up his assist did not see the game tonight.

Dude, AB is NOT a Point Guard! He is an undersized shooting guard! He needs to come off the bench Jason Terry style.

That's obvious. I bet the only reason he passed the ball away was because he couldn't see the rim.

    8 assists....

    And

DUDE...Rick Adelman's system does not need a PG, it needs a scoring point....a threat on the perimeter.

Everyone is an assister in his system.

    Ah, never mind.....

Too many people don't understand the truth...not worth it.

The truth is either we need time to gel or we still lack talent. I guess both. Simple as that.

Something has got to give. It's still early and up until tonight I made excuses for Brooks unwillingness to get Martin the ball but this was ridiculous. If that was not purposefully freezing Martin out then Brooks is a freaking r****d when it comes to basketball IQ.

One guy is a shoot first PG on a team looking to contend next year and his trade value is at an all time high. His backup (who was handpicked by the GM) is also regarded by many fans to be the better player. The other guy is an elite scorer in this league who the GM just traded the potential sixth man of the year for. Who do you think wins if these guys can't co-exist? I think the answer to that one is easy.

Rick's system or any other system requires that the PG not look off the best scorer on the team for the entire time game.

What's hilarious is that Brooks will toss the ball over to Mr. Brick Shot aka Ariza all night long but when gets a real scorer on the wing he refuses to even acknowledge that the guy is in the game.

\adelmans system also promotes heaps of passing and getting a good open shot after working the ball around and around to find the open man cutting or spotting up. it also involves many players to score and not just one superstar to take all the shots.

aaron thinks hes iverson taking all those shots and only passing it up when he has nowhere to go along with those heat checks
