Is it just me or i'd rather have a pass first Point Guard? AB is nice don't get me wrong but he plays like a shooting guard.

No i just dont understand how you can make this many excuses for a guy shooting 30 percent, when he is paid to do one thing: shoot.

I think he meant like steve francis finish where he could take contact and still get the shot off

He is paid to help the team win. And when we got down by 27, he was the main reason they got back into it. His ability to get to the draw fouls has been amazing. Once his shooting touch returns, he will be a major threat.

    ..or was.

kevmart's shot is off this year. and AB still doesnt know how to pass the ball. he couldnt pass it to yao before, seems like he cant pass it to kevmart now. i like brooks, but he'll always be that gifted offensive player who cant make a smart decision. he's like luther head with better handles. i think it's time to put him to better use as trading chip in the offseason. package him with scola and get bosh.

with only 20games left, i do think it's a lost season. should just let them play and develop chemistry. expect not to make playoffs already. give hill and bud and the younger kids more playing time and get started on next year.

Brooks will be traded in the offseason.

Lowry will start. Everything will go through Martin and Yao early to get us in the bonus quickly. We will be one of the most efficient scoring teams in the league. As Morey has said, Yao is the most efficient scorer in the league when we are in the penalty.

Martin had an awful game and still scored 19 points on 14 shots. He will be great for us.

PGs are not supposed to be ball-hogs and chuckers...it's not good for the team.

That is what Brooks is looking like. Okay he had 8 assits *claps* yay...Iverson would get 8 assist, the numbers don't mean much when he had what...22 shots?

to be fair, he sucked first quarter, disappeared 2nd quarter, shot well 3rd and got to the free throw line, disappeared again in the 4th.

Martin doesn't demand the ball which is understandable cause he's on a new team and doesn't want to be douche.

I don't want to make excuses for Martin, he didn't do well overall this game.

However, Brooks needs to get his teammates involved (not just Martin). The first quarter was tough to watch when Brooks kept shooting jumpers and left his teammates to watch.

The fact is right now Brooks has to take shots for us to score. Who else in our starting lineup showed up tonight. Luis hit 0 shots. Chuck Hayes is a non factor offensively. Martin missed shots.

I agree that in the grand scheme of things we dont want brooks taking that many shots, but right now, our offense is going to depend alot on brooks especially now that landry is gone.

i suspect its part martin trying to fit in, and part martin's personality not to demand the ball. plus he still trying to learn a new offense and defense, so his heads probably spinning with all these things in his head.

i feel confident he will get it all figured out, but he looks really good to me. talk about a lightning quick. he looks to have a real good feel for the game, and has a knack for drawing contact. very lowry-like.

the reality is this rocket team even at full strength has to play at a very high level to compete. their margin for error is really small, definitely not good enough to overcome 2 key injuries and the lost of carl while also trying to integrate new players.

Being out of town for a lot of the year I haven't had a chance to watch too many games but tonight was the first game that I got to catch the second half and see how the team was gelling together.

First off I think that Aaron is definitely a score first PG and we have to all admit that. The guy is a bad ass but I feel he makes poor decisions sometimes. In the third quarter when Martin finally got hot they should have continued to feed him the ball because clearly no one on Orlando was able to hold him. It's going to take some time for his shooting stroke to work itself out.

I really feel Brooks should be coming off the bench for some scoring power. I think there will be a better combo with Lowry and Martin out there on the floor where Martin will have the ball in his hands a bit more. Then Brooks to come off the bench sort of like Bobby Jackson to score off the bench when we need it.

That's just my initial reaction to this thread because before I came on here I was thinking this myself. Brooks and Martin are both SG's and need the ball in their hands and want to score.

Martin definitely needs way more shots, he got the Rockets on a nice run to end the 3rd and then he basically never got the ball in the 4th quarter. It was ridiculous, our players need to realize that he is a star player and not a role player.

we dont need a pass first PG in a rick adelman offense... plus the way we have been struggling we need SOMEONE to step up and score and it may as well be AB since k-brick cant hit anything

Martin is a proven scorer, he came out smoking late in the 3rd only to never again see the ball...that is a problem.

The more we depend on AB to take on the scoring load, the more we're going to lose. It's that simple.
