I love how AB gets all the blame when he clearly is our best player at this point in time...Kevin Martin is good but he isnt that great..Its not like if we give him 25 shots a game we ll win...This thread is an AB bashing thread in disguise...Gaa Clutchfans is really going downhill with all these idiots that think their NBA analyst and know every damn thing...
Vizzini: Inconceivable! Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
I think the criticism of Brooks for this game is warranted seeing how I watched with my own eyes as he dribbled to the three point line, looked squarely at Martin and then proceeded to go one-on-five before jacking up a jumper. It wasn't bad chemistry and it wasn't them needing to get to know one another. It was the basketball equivalent of AB giving Martin the middle finger repeatedly. Now will it continue? I don't know but I do know if I'm Adelman I talk to Brooks about it kindly and gently. If it continues to happen I sit Brooks down even if it means Temple has to log 30 minutes a game until Lowry comes back. As I said before, Brooks got a case of the Ariza-itis!!!
wow wow wow wow wow, lets not get so hasty on what will and won't work. It's been a few games. They have too find their chemistry again.
Obviously Brooks does not like Martin because this is the guy who is replacing our lunch pail toting, hard-hat wearing work horse Carl Landry. Face it, we traded for a jump shooting matador.
CALM DOWN. Seriously, this is a developmental year. We just had a significant change to our locker room and almost no time to adapt to it. Let the pros be pros and work it out.
My name is Inigo Montoya. You kill my father, prepare to die... I love it. I wish I could rep you for being clever.
You all have to realize that Brooks was called upon to score and thats been his role since day one. Make no mistake about it, we have Brooks for his scoring ability. Also keep in mind that although we have Martin now, I agree that he needs more touches, however, you still need that second guy to score as well and right now that guy is still Brooks until Yao returns. I feel that once Martin gets comfortable and scores more he will get more touches, but its not like his shooting has been excellent just yet so we cannot soley rely upon him. We still need Brooks to score.
I can't wait until Martin and Brooks get comfortable (which I think will happen) They will be a very potent scoring duo.
Pass Martin the Ball? sure, convince Idelman to make Lowry our starting PG. I like Brooks, but we really need to keep the ball in Lowry's hands.
Even if Martin is an inferior player to Landry (which I disagree about), if what you're saying is true, then Brooks needs to get over it and get playing with Martin. The above statement, if true, would be a MASSIVE blow against Brooks, particularly since I know in the famous NYT piece that Morey was talking about how irritated he was that some Boston PG wouldn't pass to another guy when he worked there. < Good. >
that actor (wallace shawn) is also a playwright and he wrote this crazy/hilarious play called "our late night" and it opens next month here in houston--bonus!!!---it is directed by the clutchfans forum's very own BATMAN JONES!!! check it out!
Oh yeah, I trust the 5-15 a LOT. I don't care about how many points he averaged with crappy Sacramento. It's about what he does here. Yes, I will give the guy time, but until otherwise IN BROOKS I TRUST!
I have seen Mr. Brooks score 30+ against the evntual champ Lakers in the playoffs. Can you say the same about Martin?
I agree. Martin has underperformed so far. It's only 3 games, but this is the NBA. Guys get paid millions, they are supposed to adjust quickly.
