It is completely gone. And with Astroworld gone as well, this is a good chance for someone to do something similar. The largest problem I see are lawsuits. If you notice in the videos, back then kids were strapped in with nothing but a belt on the DOOR of a helicopter ride. I don't think that would fly now. It would be fun to bring back. If I'm able to, I'll look into it.
Anyone remember Fame City in its heyday? It was never the same when they changed its name to Fun Plex.
I never went there. Even when they had the waterworks thing. I even remember driving by (or there nearof) to hook up with some girls in the late 80's. Of course, I was in Bellaire, so Astroworld was 5 miles away. Even then, I only worked there, (I hit on every teenager I saw, of course) but "season pass unlimited access" only started when I was a teen. To me, it made more sense to work there. I also have an awesome story of how I got fired there at 16 because they put me in the "Enchanted Kingdom" (ie. kiddie rides.) but that is for another day, or for someone to look up.
