I think this is one of the few threads where "My Life," starring Michael Keaton is actually a very relevant response. Too many to name for me...I cry at movies pretty easily.
The walk scene at the end of the movie in About Time. It was supposed to be a dumb chick flick that I had to sit through with my girlfriend. Instead I cried (she didn't) and left the room. Still the only movie that has made me cry. Also the scene in 50/50 right before he goes into surgery and the ending of Saving Private Ryan ALMOST get me.
Whenever Natalie Portman cries, I have a hard time not choking up. It's a Wonderful Life used to get me every year, too.
Elizabeth Berkley "Showgirls" pool scene. I tear up. How can Jesse Spano do these type of things?! Those caffeine pills got her to this point. "I'm So Excited" (Episode) Why is Kelly Kapowski not joining the fun?
I know it's not an American movie, but Pan's Labyrinth... the end when she... Spoiler: SPOILER ...dies... allowing her to take her rightful place next to her father as "Princess." Holy cow... I'm like a teething baby by the time the credits roll on that sh**. SOME OTHERS: The end of In America... "Good bye Mateo!" Jesus... I cried about 20 times watching the movie Beginners with Christopher Plummer and Ewan McGregor. The documentary Dear Zachary... made me cry almost from start to finish. As far as recent movies... and part of it is timing and context with this one... when I saw the last scene of Rogue One, the last word spoken (you guys know what I mean) made me audibly gasp and then... waterworks.
The most underrated movie in the last 50 years. It is both moving and poignant. The part where Joe decides that he doesn't want to jump into the volcano out of his love for Patricia is amazing. It was the last really great role that Abe Vigoda had, and Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks had great chemistry. Want to know where Tom Hanks acting chops developed? It wasn't Philadelphia or Gump... it was in this movie. Great date movie if you want to get anal from your girl.
/thread.. i never watched dumbo but watched that scene. yikes. this one hurt. and dumbo came out in 1941...imagine all these kids being torn from their families. that song is gut wrenching.
bump this thread. I always shed a tear for Steve Buscemi in this scene, in my opinion much worse than Donny's funeral in The Big Lebowski
I get teary in lots of animated movies, not sure why. edit: The Iron Giant, Secret of Nimh, Charlotte's Web
