amin el hassen just gave a top 5 for mvp on sportscenter: 1. westbrook 2. leonard 3. harden 4. lebron 5. wall said basically the same dumb argument that broussard has made... it's all about the triple double so he wins it... if he doesn't get it he gives it to leonard because his team has more wins...then asked why he has harden ahead of lebron and his answer was "i don't know" it's really sad that people like him have a vote... they really don't have any credibility to objectively choose an mvp
I want Harden to win the MVP simply because he deserves it, no more no less, of course as a Rocket's fan i am also biased but IMO Harden has been the best player this season, no question! However if the award does go to Westbrook, there is the likely silver lining that Harden might have a chip on his shoulder for being snubbed and destroys anyone who gets in his path in the playoffs, just like the dream.
I'm not a huge fan of Harden personally (blasphemous i know) and while I would be concerned that winning MVP might go to his head and we end up back in 'Star-den mode' (insert pic of Khloe...)... ...but even I wouldn't pull for somebody on another team to beat out our guy...
James will turn into the laziest "i don't have anything else to prove" fool if he wins this. Everybody here knows it...
Harden is the only player listed who changed positions and got even better. SG to PG and playing like this is unprecedented! DD
It goes to whoever deserves it. Harden absolutely deserves it. It is a three way race between Harden, lebron and leonard at this point. Westbrook should not even be in this discussion. Like someone else pointed out the only other player being overlooked is john wall.
Lets be fair to harden though. Dream was like 32 in that rox vs spurs WCF. Beard was like 25 in that rox warriors WCF. Not saying he will be hakeem but he deserves more time before we know what he is and what he isnt. This is the 1st year that ive felt like Harden is a mature NBA player
More I think about it though, if WB wins, they will announce it during his 1st round loss, so they can say how it proves he's MVP since his teammates can't help him get out of the 1st round against Harden and the Rockets. They'll say, "No MVP has ever failed to advance to the conf finals since MJ on that out-manned 1988 team, because they all had great support players." And how amazing that is, comparing him to MJ of '88. Completely omitting Nowitzki. Or someone will bring up Dallas, and they'll spin it, "Well, that was just a phenomenal series by Baron Davis." while not saying the same thing about Harden stopping WB. And if Harden wins, and SAS is beating up on us in the 2nd Round, they'll announce Harden won, and use it to say how Kawhi should have won, because no MVP has ever failed to make it to the Conf Finals in nearly 30 yrs, again skipping over Nowitzki, and ignoring Harden just stopped Westbrook...see above paragraph.
I've considered the same thing. Didn't they say the same thing happening to Hakeem fueled him to eat The Admiral alive? I don't give a hoot about Harden winning regular season MVP. I want him to win Finals MVP.
