Why waste time on a sinking ship? It's only useful as evidence for investigations. From what I understand, trump himself never bothered to make an account lol.

LOL... the perfect republican parler game, involves lies, deceit, and idiots being duped...

Former Parler CEO says Dan Bongino owns no shares, got hustled by Rebekah Mercer
Fox News contributor Dan Bongino claims to be a Parler investor — but former CEO John Matze says he was duped

I brought this up a few times before. If people are getting upset that private social media companies are "censoring" conservative voices rather than putting in more regulation or nationalizing them those voices should be supporting Parler and other social media sites.

The Right likes to criticize government stepping in to solve social problems and says that there should be market solutions. Well here is a market solution.

The Right would counter Parler can't compete because cloud monopolies like AWS/Google/MS kicked them out or won't host them.

Yes that could be a problem but then the market response would be to start other web gateway services to counter those. In the marketplace ideas if it works like a literal marketplace there should be enough consumers willing to go to find opinions that aren't being heard on other media. It worked for Fox News and given that there is now OAN and NewsMax show it can be done.

We've discussed whether those platforms should be treated as utilities due to their size and reach.

How realistic of a response is it to start up a new "power plant" in order to support a couple of small-mid size bubba apps that promote their Con flags?

Except we're talking about Conservatives who generally favor less government regulation. If these same people now want to argue that private businesses like Facebook should be treated like a utility I would say that's some pretty big government regulation.

It's funny how they can't apply that same argument to healthcare as a "utility" or electricity or internet service.

It shows their reasoning isn't based on principle but just loosing the majority narrative on cultural topics and lashing out in frustration.

No doubt they'd prefer to double dip, just like anyone would. Tech companies are far from competitive in the sense that anything remotely within the interest of giants are sucked up like a black hole. I'm not sure what cons think about monopolies, but I have my own ideas.

I'm trying to support liberal values in the sense that speech shouldn't be suppressed but rather brought up to the forefront. These arguments are the progressive version of double dipping as they passively observe without much reservation to their own principles.

Withdrawing the platform in order to mute discourse, no matter how much you disagree with them, isn't going to remove or reduce sentiments or frustrations of people apps like Parler attracts.

I wonder what the thoughts are from people like @Os Trigonum or @dachuda86 on whether ISIS propaganda should be allowed on the major social media networks.

Twitter execs as leftists is hilarious. They are driven by market demand. In fact it's their literal fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to act in their best interests to maximize their return on investment.
