If parents were as awesome as IROC it and Mrs. IROC it, then we wouldn't have to worry about issues like this. +1
Even Little Green Footballs (of all blogs) has already left the right wing nutjob reservation: http://littlegreenfootballs.com/art...nation_of_Innocent_Helpless_Children_Revealed Bizarro world.
IROC it has always been pretty easy to respect, IMHO. But that was a cool post. And really, a pretty good little speech to schools.
When Bush spoke to students, Democrats investigated, held hearings By: Byron York Chief Political Correspondent 09/08/09 7:11 AM EDT George H. Bush, 41st President of the United States (Photo by Logan Mock-Bunting/Getty Images) The controversy over President Obama's speech to the nation's schoolchildren will likely be over shortly after Obama speaks today at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. But when President George H.W. Bush delivered a similar speech on October 1, 1991, from Alice Deal Junior High School in Washington DC, the controversy was just beginning. Democrats, then the majority party in Congress, not only denounced Bush's speech -- they also ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate its production and later summoned top Bush administration officials to Capitol Hill for an extensive hearing on the issue. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/o...rats-investigated-held-hearings-57694347.html
"...You don’t hit every note the first time you sing a song. You’ve got to practice. It’s the same with your schoolwork." OPPRESSED PANDA IS BEING INDOCTRINATED! RESIST THE MIND-CONTROL TRICKS, UPRIGHT PANDA!
LOL That's certainly interesting, but not surprising. For all the disgust going on right now on the left regarding the right, both sides are but different sides of the same coin. They all resort to the same tactics.
It’s worth noting that that the investigation that Democrats were calling for at the time came after Bush’s address to students (which was about actual education policy) and over funding of the event.
Oh, well the Democrats did it too so all of this was a great idea and did a lot for the country so it should be done every time a different party has the presidency. That sort of behavior is clearly what makes this nation great.
Bull. Democrats don't generally lie as a rule. Republicans have done it straight through this presidency -- and not just the fringe, but the leadership. That is in no way the same tactics.
One of the most absurd arguments I've seen. The Democrats protested and investigated funding for the event. They did not resort to crazy calling the President's speech indoctrination. Maybe the Dems investigation was partisan, but it certainly wasn't insane, off the wall, about something that isn't even in the realm of reality. The protests over Obama's speech is not the same at all.
So, according to two consecutive posts by you, it is both "legitimate [and] reasonable" and also "pretty shallow." Yeah, that makes sense.
No. "We need to question how the President wants to make our nation “more fair and more free” and we should wonder why he fails to celebrate the fairness and freedom of America that allowed him to rise to the most powerful position in the world." The part in bold-face brought up what I consider is a very reasonable question. The remainder of the sentence was dumb, which I suppose I should have said initially.
Okay. Personally I think it's amazing that anyone can find anything to criticize in making the nation "more fair" or "more free." Personally I think it smacks of someone desperate to find something, anything to criticize and, as such, it smacks of pettiness to me. And personally I can't imagine how any reasonable person could find that sort of thing "very reasonable." But okay. I've said it enough different ways to be done with it.
