Kids should never listen to their parents anyway. I spent 19 years trying to live how they thought I should, and the past 6 trying to distance myself from their ignorance.
Why don't these government hating, tea-partying, birth certificate investigating idiots just do us all a favor and remove their kids from the socialist public school system forever anyway?
i remember in 2000 during the recount, my parking garage for work was right across the street from the driscoll in austin, the bush hq. as i was walking from the garage to work one morning (block walk to congress), there was a group of people standing out there waiting on something. i asked and they said bush was about to walk out. so i sat and waited and when he did, i literally got goosebumps and even waved. as anyone who was here in 2000 can attest, i was not especially thrilled with what was going down and who our potential president might be. but there was something special about seeing that person close up and i respected the office enough to realize what a cool experience that was. **** these people. i'm over being nice to these morons.

Knowing the conservative christian movement like I do, I honestly think most of this has little to do with Barack Obama and more to do with sour grapes still lingering from the criticism Dubya received when they all had proclaimed him "God's right hand man" My parents had a portrait of Dubya and Laura in their home displayed proudly like they were incredible people worthy of constant praise. I'm serious. Political Powers seem to bring out the extremist viewpoint in Fundamentalists. GWB was God's chosen, now Obama is the Socialist, Neo-Pinko Antichrist set to destroy America by forcing each and every one of us to be able to get health care.
Some people in this country are excellent at wasting their own time and everyone else's time, often to the detriment of everyone. Example 1: Complaining about Ikea's new font in their catalogs. Example 2: Pulling their kid out of school to avoid Obama's encouragement of education. Example 3: Spending 2 hours washing cat paw prints off their windshield. (sorry, I had to) What a waste of time these people are. I still say we should remove warning labels from everything and let all problems solve themselves.

Listening to michael berry on the way home (don't know why), he's going off on this. he was saying that he would let his kids listen to clinton and carter but not obama because he believes obama is a radical. then he goes off on obama increasing troops in afghanistan, so now berry say's he's confused because he thought obama was against the war and must have learned something becoming president from intelligence. also going off, claiming obama was apologizing to the muslim world for 9-11. so the first caller calls in, and says i see why you're confused because obama supported afghanistan during the campgain and said we took the eye off the ball with iraq. caught berry in a straight lie, it was hilarious, it left him flabbergasted. but anyway the lies these guys are pushing and the hate is unbelievable
Sorry, but that's a load of carp. In your home, you should have control over what your kids are "exposed" to. But once you enter into a PUBLIC school, paid for by PUBLIC funds, and the duly-elected leader of our nation (whether or not you agree with his politics) decides to speak to PUBLIC school children, then by jeebus your precious little unique snowflake of a child is going to listen. Or should we maybe do away with "socialist" programs like PUBLIC education? I get the feeling they might pick a name like "Timothy McVeigh".
I guess it's ok for Bush to read stories to children while 9/11 is happening, but god forbid, Obama talking about kids and their future! Oh no - not on my watch!!!
