Parents Charged with 'Neglect' After 11-Year-Old Plays in Yard for 90 Minutes

What a ridiculous case. So the neighbour instead of offering the child water or a snack he calls the police?
maybe the parents should sue.

 

Wait, was the child crashing a pool party?

Because then it would make sense.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if calling the police was an act of revenge. The noise from a ball, wind chime, etc can be neighbor unfriendly

 

Is the kid transgender or trans-racial?

 

No one is blaming the cop for overreacting? If the parents truly came within 20 minutes to an hour, a warning should have been issued.

Blaming the "government" as a whole is always stupid

Then maybe we're not getting the whole story here?

 

Seems like a whole lot of collusion going on between various government agencies if this was as simple a case as Fox News wants to make. There tends to be something to these stories that are left out that end up making the actions explainable.

 

The problem isn't the nosy neighbor - there are nosy neighbors everyone and people call CPS for all sorts of (good and bad) reasons. CPS has a very difficult and complex job and determining abuse is a tricky thing to do. But that said, CPS often does fail and make the situation worse. There may be more to this particular story, but there is a lot of reform needed regardless, and if cases like this can highlight that, all the better.

This is too much, ridiculous that a 11 year old can't shoot hoops without Gladys Crabits bringing in some over officious jerk of a cop.

Unbelievable....how little ****ing common sense there is in law enforcement and particularly neighbors these days.

I'm trying to find more info on this story beyond this one link. Everything I'm finding online is either the same or a regurgitation of it.

 

Too bad the NOSY neighbor could not just go over and sit with the boy for a time until the folks came home - you know, like be a good ****ING NEIGHBOR !
