I'm not even shocked or surprised by this. It just fits everything else we know about this Administration.
"The kids have been through enough," said one top adviser. WTF? The "kids"? donald jr is 42. eric is 36.ivanka is 39. jared is 39. Face it... its ridiculous referring to the #traitortots as "kids." And these "kids" have led a sheltered and privileged life. If people want to feel sorry for kids, how about the kids separated from their parents at the border, never to be reunited? Or the kids whose parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles died from COVID-19 while trump denied, argued against, and still hasn't acted to slow the virus. Those are the kids that "have been through enough." White House vetting pardon requests as some push Trump to preemptively pardon family Vetting has already commenced in some cases by White House lawyers, sources say https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/whi...sts-push-trump-preemptively/story?id=74482289
Gerald Ford really F-ed the country when he blanketed Nixon's pardon and it was never challenged in court, or more narrowly defined with the White House Counsel. It's likely illegal to offer a blanket or future forward looking Pardon but because of the Ford/Nixon precedent, it's highly unlikely that a Republican Scotus (assuming it would go all the way up in the courts) would not uphold precedent to save Trump's a$$.
Pardoned, convicted felon Michael Flynn is now free to pursue Acts of Sedition. Is the USA a great country or what? Michael Flynn: Americans Will 'Not Allow' Biden To Be Inaugurated Disgraced former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn on Sunday insisted that Americans will "not allow" President-elect Joe Biden's "false inauguration" to go forward. Flynn, who has previously suggested that the current president should declare martial law, told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that there is a "10 out of 10" chance that President Donald Trump will be the next commander-in-chief. "Why not look into this if in fact the evidence that we have is true?" Flynn opined. "We definitely believe that it is true. And there is clear, clear evidence." He added: "And so what we have to stop doing is saying [there is] nothing to see here, you know, we're going to continue to march down the road towards a false inauguration, which the country will not allow that right now." Flynn also argued that the Georgia Senate runoff elections are "a falsehood that people shouldn't even be considering right now."
I fully anticipate a pardon for Snowden coming as well. I assume the only details are around Trump trying to secure his fealty which is the only question here. We know Assange will throw his base of support to Trump as he's always done. Snowden is a more complicated character, and he's smart enough to know how to sell books and get interviews by being a non-partisan type (even if he certainly has his own personal loyalties). He also knows that if it is proven that he really was just working for the Russians and against Democrats then his whole shtick is overwith. But I think in the end, Snowden will be pardoned and I do think you'll see him be a Trump spokesperson via mediums like Joe Rogan, etc.
I read he may not pardon his family because if he does they are free to testify against him with what they know. DD
Good read on the subject: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...you-be-compelled-to-testify-about-your-crime/
The comically corrupt pardon party has begun - first course: Russian collaborators, Mercernary war criminals, a couple of CBP murderers, and some garden variety crooked GOP congressmen n an audacious pre-Christmas round of pardons, President Trump granted clemency on Tuesday to two people convicted in the special counsel’s Russia inquiry, four Blackwater guards convicted in connection with the killing of Iraqi civilians and three corrupt former Republican members of Congress. Among those pardoned was George Papadopoulos, who was a foreign policy adviser to Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign and pleaded guilty in 2017 to making false statements to federal officials as part of the investigation by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III. Also pardoned was Alex van der Zwaan, a lawyer who pleaded guilty to the same charge in 2018 in connection of the special counsel’s inquiry. Both men served short prison sentences. The Mueller-related pardons are a signal of more to come of people caught up in the investigation, according to people close to the president. Mr. Trump’s pardon list also included four former U.S. service members who were convicted of killing Iraqi civilians while working as contractors in 2007. One of them, Nicholas Slatten, had been sentenced to life in prison after the Justice Department had gone to great lengths to prosecute him. Mr. Slatten had been a contractor for the controversial company Blackwater and was sentenced for his role in the killing of 17 Iraqi civilians in Nisour Square in Baghdad — a massacre that left one of the most lasting stains on the United States of the war. The three former members of Congress pardoned by Mr. Trump were Duncan Hunter of California, Chris Collins of New York and Steve Stockman of Texas. Mr. Hunter was set to begin serving an 11-month sentence next month. He pleaded guilty in 2019 to one charge of misusing campaign funds. Mr. Collins, an early endorser of Mr. Trump, is serving a 26-month sentence after pleading guilty in 2019 to charges of making false statements to the F.B.I. and to conspiring to commit securities fraud. Mr. Stockman was convicted in 2018 on charges of fraud and money laundering and was serving a 10-year sentence. And Mr. Trump granted full pardons to two former Border Patrol agents whose sentences for their roles in the shooting of an alleged drug trafficker had previously been commuted by President George W. Bush. I like the crimes against humanity pardons for the mercs who murdered 17 brown people in order to bring democracy to them. A fitting coda for his presidency and those who supported him, @basso @Os Trigonum, also both veterans of operation Iraqi Freedom, Clutch BBS Division, as well.
Grifters get out of free cards. Surprise. Black water murders sent free. Mueller conviction pardons. Wouldn’t surprise me if he pardons all Mueller’s convictionS including those 7 Russians.
