well the Paramore song is really popular. they played it on the VMAs. However I like the other rock songs they have. Metric is gaining popularity as the new hot indie group.
Paramore is certainly more mainstream and makes radio catchy songs. Metric probably less known, in regards to the teenage demographic who influence popular music quite a bit. Still have some catchy songs. Personally, I like Metric's style better. So them.
That paramore song is in Guitar Hero World Tour. I voted for them because my daughters like their songs... although some have lyrics of which I probably don't approve.
New? They've been at it for 12+ years. Nice to see Emily Haines (and her mates) getting some mainstream recognition, though. 'Grow Up and Blow Away' is a good album. Probably my favorite.
The only reason I've heard of either of these bands is because the chick from Paramour accidentally posted topless photos on twitter account (NSFW).
I'm going with Paramore because I've never heard of Metric. That "The Only Exception" single is terrible though.
Yeah, it's amazing the crap indie-heads like Seriously....that Metric song is one of the worst songs lyrically that I have ever heard.
Live it Out is a great listen also, though in a different direction. It should be no contest, but looking it up now, Paramore's been around for a while too.
I learned about them by accidentally going into Meridian instead of Warehouse trying to see TV on the Radio.
