We already have medicaid for the poor and medicare for the old. We also have social security. These are all entitlement programs since people get more money out of the system then they put into the system. Most people will pay more into insurance then they take out. This country is not purely capitalist and hasn't been one for a long time. If you want your libertarian fairy land move to Somalia, Ethiopia or Afghanistan because the rest of the modern world has moved on a long time ago.

Yes ,"health care is a right" is a stupid slogan.

"Showbiz Pizza is a right" has way more credibility.

Are you suggesting that the rich pay too much in taxes?

Clueless. Health care is a right that if you are unemployed or a contract employee, you have to she'll out big bucks to an insurance company to have that right or the government will fine you for your failure to pay for that right.

Last time I checked, rights do not come with a government penalty for failure to exercise that right.

Just move to move away and start your slave colony already. You obviously have no understanding of being a member of this country.

You are the one who believes you have a right to the labor of others, not me.

One more argument in favor of the single-payer system that should have been implemented in the first place.

According to your chart the rich (top 20%) of America pay approximately 63% of the total taxes paid. According to my chart

the rich accrue 85% of the countries wealth. So no, they do not pay enough taxes. Nice try.

You're right, you believe in something far sicker than slavery. I've discussed this earlier, at least in slavery you care about the health of your slaves...

I was just disputing the notion that health care is a right.

Rights are things no one can stop you from doing. Not burdens you place on others.

Oh.......so you think "the rich" should not only pay taxes on their income, but also on the after tax monies they already possess. Nice try yourself.

So you're saying wealth is a poor merit of the tax burden? That's laughable. Call it what you want, but it is the best measure for tax burden. Basing the tax burden on income alone would be a poor system. Income taxes by nature favor the wealthy predominately because the poor and middle class rely more on income than wealth. By basing taxes on wealth, it supplements the deficit between income and wealth. Even nicer try.

Make note of it, you called yourself a fishmonger not I.

Remember this little diddy from America the Beautiful?

And crown thy good with brotherhood
    From sea to shining sea.

...but I guess you've forgotten the part about brotherhood.

Brotherhood is great. That's why I don't use the collective force of putting guns to people's heads to get things that I desire.

Ok, I get it now. Imposing our will on other countries with guns is ok, but asking our fellow countrymen through non-violent means to pay a little more taxes isn't. Got it. Thank you for educating me on this matter.

My math isn't so good, but it sure sounds like your system--where those with X amount of wealth would carry X amount of the country's tax burden--would rather quickly lead to a classless society where wealth is pretty evenly distributed.

nothing nonviolent about it (doesn't make it wrong necessarily)
