Best case scenario abound last night. Arlington loses and we pull out the comeback. That could be a season turning event. LOVE IT!
Don't forget that the Yankees lost, allowing the Astros to move ahead of them into the final WC spot.
Arlington fans are cute too. Alot of them I know think they have the division and the next 7 World Series in the bag. I.D.I.O.T.S
Obviously one winning streak doesn’t completely change things, but this thread is appearing to be relatively humorous.
*static* hello! can anybody hear me? the call is coming from inside the house! the island is a metaphor for the work to be done in the afterlife! bruce willis was dead the whole time! *static* helloooo? is this thing *static* on? yes, the AL should push the panic button
I bet the over at 97.5 and have contended every single time I’ve brought it up that I fully expect to cash my ticket. I voted no on this thread. I have contended on my podcast every week that this team will keep winning and talk about what it will take to get back on a 100 win pace (we are practically there). I predicted 5-1 before this winning streak kicked off last week (Thursday through Wednesday) and nailed it on the number last week and expect to be correct again this week (need to win 1 of next 2 to get there). I never panicked. All that said there are decisions made daily that really grate on me. Julks plays too much. Yordan and Tucker have only been put together 3 times and we’ve raked, but then go away from it for no good reason. Abreu is absolutely a horrific choice to bat cleanup and he should not play every damn day- play him 5 days a week batting 7th, that’s plenty of time to work out of his funk if it is to ever happen. It’s criminal that Diaz has the 3rd best expected hitting stats on a team that is tied for 16th in runs scored, while also having only 57 PA in 47 games, while playing a position that the starter is 26% below average, his secondary position is manned by the worst every day hitter in baseball, and having Julks and Hensley get many games as a DH. It’s lunacy. All that said this team is so good that we can do all that suboptimal stuff and I still fully expect to win 100 games.
I jokingly told my buddies a month ago (without looking at the schedule) that all we needed was some games against the A's and the sCrubs to get us going again....
Astros beating up on shitty teams? That's a great positive to me. They've already proven they can beat good teams, and if they can consistently beat bad teams....Astros are unstoppable.
This thread has become a hindsighter’s paradise and there were 61 votes for no and only 14 for yes. Doesn’t matter I guess.
I have a hard time hating on Dusty anymore. Maldy is hitting well so it is what it is. But he gets credit for changing Dubon's mindset around and for giving Jake Meyers confidence. Dusty is doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes that we aren't giving him credit for.
Alvarez is the one that got Dubon hitting better, according to Dubon. I will give Dusty credit for sticking with Myers. I will never give him credit for the stubbornness of keeping Diaz out of the lineup in favor of Julks, Maldi, and Hensley.
