I have always thought ESPN radio generally was awful. I preferred TSN, but since I haven't heard TSN radio in a long while, I have no idea if I still like it. Now the problem for me in listening to 610 is the presence of Granato, Rome, Vandermeer, Jackson, and Lord. Those guys are just awful. If Lord jumps over to 790 to join Palillo, I won't listen to that program because, as much as I respect Palillo, having Lord paired with him will be a deal breaker. That is the reason I can't listen to the morning show on 610, even though I like Lance.
Shades of "Frasier" in its last few seasons I know this is a media quote for public consumption, but, Charlie, have you talked to your compatriots formerly on 950 and 740? Step back from the ledge.
I like Charlie but I don't think he has the personality for nationwide syndication. He'd have to have a zany co-host who knows almost as much as him about sports (ie: NOT Rich).
I agree with this in general. It is just tough to do syndicated sports radio in the first place because fans are so regional.
You guys are effin stoned if you think it is even in the works for Palillo to go national. He'll do his 3-7 show across the street and UNLEASH HELL on the Rockets and Texans now that he is unaffiliated. Just watch. It'll be a spectacle to behold, his wraith on the Rocks. Hell, it started Wednesday night with his Yao talk.
Morning, didn't think anyone else was actually up at this godforsaken hour...oh, it's already 7. Hrm. I really need to stop playing Metal Gear Solid 3. Anyway, since MGS3 has been screwing with my sleep schedule over the thanksgiving days...I have been falling asleep during most shows I would normally listen to. (John/Lance) and more specifically, the Drive Time Players... I heard it once last week...was Matt just on the show since the Rockets game was on later in the day, and they were out at Hooters and he didn't want to miss all the fun? Or is there something else going on here. How soon is the new stuff gonna start rolling in?
Well with the way the Rockets are playing right now, somebody needs to unleash hell on them. The same goes for the Texans. The fact that he had to hold back because 610 was affiliated is kind of dissapointing to be honest.
Matt Jackson does a pretty good job of telling it like it is after the Rockets play on his call in show. I'll give him credit for that. I do think they are soft on the Texans more often than not. Would you expect anything else from "The Voice" of the Texans.
