Jesus hits a slow dribbler to Sandberg, should be easy....SANDBERG GOES BLIND! It gets through...the run scores
I swear we had this thread five minutes ago. But, i'll give my input anyway. the Herd sucks. 790 needs more than one local show. i guess they two shows.
Most of the time, even though national talent doesn't talk about Houston sports, they're BETTER on-air personalities than any local talent (and thus become easier to listen to). Seriously... how many people here actually get their knowledge/news of the day from 610's afternoon show? At least Dalatti breaks the occasional Rockets/Astros/Texans story (which is pretty funny since 610 is supposed to be the "home" of two of those franchises)... the afternoon guys on 610 often seem like they're trying out new quirky ideas each day... and none of them are working. The Morning crew is fine... while they're not going to ever be knowlegeable, at least they're entertaining. Charlie is fine... too knowledgeable, and will make even the most hardcore sports fan look silly if they haven't done their research. I'll actually LEARN a new thing from time to time by listening to his show... which is hard to do in this internet age (getting your information first-hand from a media representative). I guess Matt and Adam fit the "knowledgebale = entertainment" mold as well... unfortuantely, I'm never in the car by that time of the day... and even if I was, I'd probably be listening to a baseball game or music. In the end, however, I'd rather listen to Rome, DP, Herd, or any other national host than Vandemeer/Rich, Carl Dukes, or any other Houston guy that is not entertaining, nor has any knowledge. Most importantly, 610's afternoon show needs to do a better job of REPORTING on the days stories, and the impending breaking ones, instead of just sitting by and trying to come up with new "man" topics to try and compete with the bigger stations in Dallas.
