so basso, now that we've watched the video, can you tell us what your interpretation is of her duties
not my interpretation, her words (which you'd know, if, you know, you'd bothered...): -focus on energy issues, and helping the US achieve energy independence -focus on tax cuts and reining in spending -focus on special needs kids
Sounds great, HOW? Sounds great HOW? She has no budgetary control, no experience dealing with a sitting House or Senate, especially when they are Democrat. I can understand why she would want to do that, she might actually be able to accomplish something here..... DD
Excellent. Thanks for addressing the issues. on energy issues she's already shown she either doesn't know even about Alaska's energy contribution to the U.S. or she's a liar. on tax cuts and reigning in spending. She's lied about her own spending cuts. On taxes, I prefer Obama's plan that gives 95% of the nation a tax break. On special needs kids if her focus on them is going to be things like cutting funding for the special olympics then no thanks.
you know mark, my son has ASD, and goes to a special school (pretty sure you know this). the building his school is in also houses facilities for blind kids (and adults) and services for other, much more profoundly disabled kids than my son, both physically and mentally. i see them every day, and every day my wife and i repeat our little mantra "in the world of unlucky, we're still very lucky...." these kids struggle with, and triumph over, handicaps that boggle the mind. and as a society, we turn a blind eye, shunt them off as someone else's problem, and treat them as "untouchables." i know, because i used to feel this way (you're Herod's case!). i'm sure you think you're scoring some important point, but i'm equally sure these kids merit neither your disdain, nor your ridicule. palin's example, and potentially her work on their behalf, is incredibly important (leave the abortion issue out of it). whatever else she might say, however else she might be portrayed my you, votre confres chez Kos, or by Obama, she had me at "Special Needs." i had another response, but it would have gotten me banned again.
Lighten up Francis It was a joke directed towards you, not your kid. Don't make it in to something it isn't.
except, she didn't, she actually increased funding by 10%. thanks for playing tho, bad on you for continuing to propagate unfounded rumors. really, get your news somewhere other than think progress.
LOL, you mean she was for it after she was against it? Nice one, never heard that before. It's amazing how embarrassing her record is given how small it is.
So does Palin have any record of particular support or interest in advocacy for children with special needs before she had child with Downs Syndrome?
This is a great point! Instead of attacking her lack of experience, maybe we should be looking at the experience she does have and how she has used that experience? Hum…
The new york times which sites State documents is where the news of Palin cutting special olympics in half comes from. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/07/u...l=1&adxnnlx=1221788403-dbv4uTulED2SRxsHTptjBg
