I think she is a winner. She has that certain something that cannot be easily classified or cultivated. You either have it, or you do not. She has it.

She is also a young, attractive Christian woman who has risen without any significant assistance from the established special interests or traditional power brokers. She owes a debt of gratitude and respect to John McCain, but that is pretty much it. She owes the powers that be in the Republican party jack-squat. She is a political rock star with remarkable fund raising capabilities. As we move into the 2010 and 2012 election cycles, it will be Republican candidates and the Republican party who will be kowtowing to her rather than the other way around.

Sarah Palin is a leader in this country. She has a stature that is shared by very few political figures. In fact, the number of people who are at her level right now in this regard can easily be counted on one hand.

Once again, I do not see any indication that she is interested in running for President in 2012. And I do not think she is likely to run. But she will be a factor in 2010 and 2012 nevertheless. Whether she ever runs for or holds office at the federal level has yet to be seen. Even if she does not run for anything ever again, she is likely to be a major player and a king-maker in the Republican party for many years to come.

And the continued hate from the left will only add to her stature. Every time one of the leftish haters spews their hateful bile at her, her stature is enhanced by that all the more. So, hate on, you haters.

Just remember, this conduct says a lot more about the people doing the hating, and the respect they have for her, than it does about her personally. The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. The constant response from the left towards Sarah Palin is not indifference by any means. It is hatred plain and simple. This hatred is a show of respect by you guys towards her, whether you want it to come across that way or not. Your words positively drip with fear, and with that, the respect that comes from fear, which in this instance is hatred.

My point exactly. She is not running for anything. She was taken largely by surprise when she was approached by McCain to run for VP. How can you guys claim to be "opposed to her agenda" when she does not even have an agenda?

No, that is obviously not what is happening here.

Clearly, jo mama's remarks above are off the mark.

Obama was lying when he suggested that the bill then under discussion did not include coverage for illegal immigrants. As things stand, it appears that this coverage is included in the House version of the bill, and excluded from the Senate version. So, it will be interesting to see what comes out of committee.

But Representative Joe Wilson is a member of the House of Representatives. Since the version of the bill that was passed by the House includes coverage for illegal immigrants, Joe Wilson's remarks were clearly correct, although they were inappropriate for that particular venue.

Here is a quote from an article at CNN that discuses the current status of the bill as it relates to illegal immigrants (at the bottom of the page):

    [RQUOTER]FAQs About Health Care Reform

    Will illegal immigrants be covered?

The House bill mandates insurance coverage for illegal immigrants and allows illegal immigrants to enroll in the public option and to buy private coverage in the national insurance exchange, but prohibits government subsidies for such private coverage.

The Senate plan exempts illegal immigrants from the health coverage mandate, and prohibits illegal immigrants from participating in the insurance exchanges.[/RQUOTER]

It is obviously possible to observe someone is lying, or that someone is a liar without hating them. I know it would be easier for you guys if conservatives did hate Barack Obama, but unfortunately for your easy-to-use talking points, it just is not so. However, conservatives do flatly loathe the Democrat's leftist agenda. Obama is an empty suit who most conservatives just do not hold a high regard for. Not because they hate him, but because they do not respect him.

Unfortunately, this is an attitude that is starting to be adopted by leaders around the world, and never more so than after his latest failure in Copenhagen. Of course, that makes Obama 0-2 in Copenhagen so far this year. Clearly, the bloom is already off of the rose with this one.

Exactly. A representative from the JimCrowiest of all Jim Crow lands turned red in the face and just barely stifled the ", boy!" from his highly emotional outburst.

Even this little basketball BBS has shown the amazing passion and Obsession this president somehow generates in his critics.

Those are the comments of a race-baiter, Bob. It is very disappointing to see you lower yourself to this level.

I know for one thing that she has a strong social conservative leaning that would make any progressive leer. She's known to be EXTREMELY pro-life, to the point where it is almost absurd (no exceptions even for rape/incest). In that context, her agenda can be vaguely defined.

It becomes something to worry about. Vague "homosexual social agendas" and "feminist social agendas" tend to appeal to a pretty hefty majority on the right as well, so perhaps you can relate.

Your comments are those of a race-baiter as well. As with Bob, I am very disappointed to see you so cavalierly engaging in this sort of patently dishonest, racially charged rhetoric. Racism continues to be a highly inflammatory issue in this country, and irresponsible comments such as the ones offered by you and Bob here in this thread are a large part of the reason why.

These comments are all about you, and in Bob's case, all about him. I guess this is what you guys are about. Personally, I would like to see us all move beyond these sorts of hateful remarks. But as long as there are people like you and Bob on the job, it seems unlikely that will happen any time soon.

This is very disappointing behavior from you guys. Very disappointing and not very impressive. You guys need to learn to be better than this.

    Good for her to practice!

She wouldn't want to ramble off cue with a mishmash of cliches and boilerplate rhetoric on such a momentous event.

Maybe BO will lend her one of his teleprompters.

Then again, probably not. What if he were to be caught short without one of them? No, better that he not take the chance.
