Really, I'm a conservative and don't think she has what it takes to lead the country. It's your hate that keeps feeding the fire.
what's your point? why do you think Palin's parent's drove to Canada to see doctors? Is the healthcare there better and more affordable? Was the care/treatment provided to Sarah and family produce good results?
The only thing more predictable than Palin doing/saying something silly every few months is the inevitable backlash from the wingers who chime in to claim how everybody who notes her mistake is "obsessed" with her. I'd say this reflexive Palin counter-jock sniffing is in and of itself indicative of obsession.
Has nothing to do with the topic. Or my point. I think I was pretty clear the first time: What she did as a person in whatever stage of development constitutes "growing up" has no bearing on my opinion of her or Canada's health care system, and without more information, the last thing I'm going to do is call her a hypocrite, express moral outrage, or otherwise get my panties in a bunch about whether she received medical care in Canada while growing up. Dude. I have no idea.
It's not about whose decision it is. At the end of the day, her parents decided to drive to Canada for their healthcare. Does that make her parents socialists?
I think Obama has misshandled this but this year he is turning it around. he has turned it to "i'm doing what's right, not what's popular" and i think its brilliant. republicans are overplaying their hand by saying this is unpopular nd it will burn him politically. the obvious retort is i think i'm doing what's right
I commented on the thread topic itself. Even PGab's conceded my point. If you want to derail, then go for it. Count me out though.
There's nothing wrong with government run health care as long as it's someone elses government. Actually, I think that one of the GOP arguments against gov't run health care is the fear that illegal aliens could border hop and get free health care that we're paying for. And Palin's family did the same damned thing. It's just that instead of Mexicans getting American health care, it was Americans getting Canadian health care.
The thread title is, at best, misleading. My first thought was "oh damn....she's been going to Canada for this." That's far from being the case. Then the quoted article that the title is based on said that she did this when growing up. My first post (and subsequent posts) were in response to this.
Who said anything about lying? According to the article, she went there while growing up, and unless further evidence is presented, this isn't an adult acting hypocritically. Why are you having so much trouble comprehending this?
