Yeah, he had the gall to be so obviously looking FOR AN ACTUAL RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION ASKED. I'll put it this way - if she answered a question like that in court she'd be in jail for contempt of court.
I think oddson has pointed out something glaring. Palin shares the same casual ignorance of foreign policy as some of her new supporters. She thought she gave a decent and adequate answer, and they do too.
See I interpret it differently - she thinks she doesn't have to give an answer, espeically in the event that she doesn't have one - which is frequently in her case.
If he is elected, checked this thread in one year's time and let's tlaking about the new &/or pending wars. It's scary, but ya get what ya get when ya elected a warrior from a warrior family: war. Ya get what ya pay for, regardless of how "like you" your hockey mom is.
no different than Iraq attacking the Kurds or what happened in Bosnia. You can't attack a civilian population like that - especially on a group that is of a different religion, ethnic make-up, or whatever. To send tanks in firing? Russia had no choice but to respond. Had Georgia been a NATO member, their foolish actions might have drawn the entire world into a nightmarish crisis.
At least the current Admin can give her a playbook on that...just in case there's questions on how she could boost her experience.

I would like to say how impressed I am by Gibson - very good techniques. he's not really taking a cross-examination but he's essentially taking a deposition, and doing a damned fine job of it. Of course if it was a REAL deposition, after it was over he would have a great argument to go to the judge and demand responsive answers and do the deposition again, and he'd likely win....
We now have verifiable proof that McCain and Palin have been serial lying on the campaign stump about the Bridge to Nowhere. This should be a game changer and the mainstream press should expose this fraud for what it is. This is a critical moment in this campaign.

I disagree...Tough questions...Absolutely fine but not the condescending...Hibris?(sp) Exactly. Check it at the door..The more I heard the tone of the questions, the more I realized that... I'm sure had Obama had the same question phrased with condescention, you'd be in a uproar... Obama would have a coniption fit with the same condescending tone by Gibson... Palin handled it very well, and from what I heard got even more comfortable in session 2...Next week..O...............OOOOOOOOOO BOy watch out!
Are you kidding me? Reporters always do that, you don't think Bill O'Reily tried that with Obama? Look, the bottom line....Palin is just not qualified to be the VP, she just doesn't have the chops. She has been in a state that has less people than Austin Texas, and has a very isolated set of issues. She is not ready to lead or be part of a leadership team that is taking the helm of the biggest, baddest country on the planet. And the fact that she has convictions (wouldn't blink or hesitate) without having understanding is downright scary. I mean would she make a call on a serious situation without understanding the totality of the situation? What is wrong with asking for a defition or clarification of a question? You don't try to fake an answer, that makes you look bad...turn it around on the interviewer.....ask them what is their understanding of the Bush doctrine, and then answer the question. You can't FAKE your way through this...and the fact that she tried, shows a severe lack of judgement on her part. She is just not ready......and that has nothing to do with all the abuse of power crap, and other stuff swirling around her.....the bottom line is that Sarah Palin is not ready to take this step. DD
With all due respect...why? None of these revelations of ignorance or dishonesty are the least bit relevant. And that is exactly why the Democrats just don't get it and are about to, yet again, snatch defeat from the jaws of imminent victory. Do you seriously think that the same collection of voters that re-elected George Bush after he led the nation into war based on a lie will be deterred because of this lie? Fat chance. At the end of the day, it just doesn't matter.
