really? come on. i guess by that argument you can say that she would decrease the numbers of unwed teenage mothers as well.

my point is not intended to political in the slightest. i am only making it to address the terrible logic that turns the eldest daughter of the vp into some sort of leader for millions of poor kids.

And the faux indignation by the right has been pretty funny to watch after the last 16 years.

I obviously don't believe what I posted above, it was meant to make the point that some of the questions being raised about Palin are outrageous and would never be asked of a man.

I think there are major issues regarding Palin; the bridge to nowhere flub, the Alaskan Independence issue, etc. Her ability to raise her children shouldn't be one and it's disgusting to me that it's been discussed on national news networks.

For some reason I doubt that she will increase our dramatically high teen pregnancy rate at all (other than her own being added to the number).

Again, had the republican party not intentionally made family "values" a key mantra of their platform, you'd have a legitimate point.

As it is, this is a textbook example of why such a credo was blatant pandering, and a step backwards in progressive education, equality, and rationality.

    You just proved my point.

For the record, I don't agree with it when any side does it and I challange you to find a post from me that says otherwise. I just think it's funny how the left condemns it and claims to take the high road, then jumps on Palin like a pack of wild dogs the first chance they get and justifies it by saying "well, they started it!"

Are you comparing John Kerry, lying about his time in Vietnam experiences to bash America and its Soldiers, to John McCain's five years of getting the crap kicked out of him every day, isolation for months, having boils the size of golf balls all over him, and god know what else.

The reason his campaign uses the POW line so much is that this guys character shines through because of his actions as a POW, he had a chance to be released but wouldn't take it because he was going to be used for political gain.

Let's get real, you go through something like that I think you deserve to use it as much as you want. And maybe it is just my opinion but I think it does say something about the man who is running for President.

Probably because we're sick of losing elections to inferior candidates. If it works for them, it should work for us.

And I don't think the pregnancy things should be issues and have never said any different. I'm just making fun of the right's reaction to it when they've made politics like this their staple. T_J even admitted yesterday that we don't want to go into the gutter with them.

A bunch of dorks on a message board is not "the left". Obama has condemned it, and stayed out of it. I have not seen his campaign make disparaging commercials out of it a la McCain's tactics either.

Yeah I was just highlighting the silliness of this thread's premise.

If her public policies have failed her own family, how is that not relevant?

Libs and Cons, admit it, you have different ideas, but you are essentially the same.

Four years ago, Cons did their dirty works, now it is time for libs taking their revenge. So I consider it is a fair game.

Don't cry, Cons. Call Karl Rove now.

If you cannot discern the difference between these two then we cannot help you. John Kerry was lying about his service record, John McCain was a POW...

George W Bush lied about his service record, but that didn't seem to bother Repubs.

    The hypocrisy is unrealy.
