They'll be tough on her if only because she's shown to draw youtube visits on her hilariously baffling ramblings.
Here's a good general overview of Palin's blossoming nightmare. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13991.html
Based on empirical studies, Kanazawa and Kovar (2004) argue that humans perceive physically attractive people to be more intelligent than unattractive people. Kanazawa, S. and J.L. Kovar 2004 Why Beautiful People are more Intelligent. Intelligence 32:227-243. This may have been brought up before if so apologies. Just grabbed this quickly online so apologies to the author. As a psych major we studied this effect in college and I also remember seeing a 20/20 type investigation where candidates of equal backgrounds were sent on job interviews. One was good looking and the other not. Every time male or female candidate or male or female interviewer the attractive candidate would win. When one interviewer was asked about this later on, the interviewer stated the attractive candidate "seemed more intelligent." There was an additional study where attractive and unattractive teachers were sent as subs to the same classroom. When asked which sub the students preferred they chose the attractive one citing she was smarter. Unfortunately in today's image not substance society there could be a majority of voters who fall for this effect. I would hope more people would listen to her interviews and discover the truth......
Not sure how long this will stay up - Palin interview with Couric (SNL Spoof) <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4wS2XFQec0Q&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4wS2XFQec0Q&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I still don't get how the $700 billion dollar bailout is about tax relief, job creation, and health care reform....? Can any Palin support please explain? TJ? Basso? Bigtexx? Please explain this concept to us....
i don't know how any republican can support this ticket when palin is the dumbest politician (at least from interviews) on earth? it's absurd by the extreme partisanship.
Just a question, if something does happen to McCain, will there be a way to keep the VP from getting into power?
The only way to do it would be to impeach and force resignation before McCain croaks. It's written into the constitution, so nothing can be done.
Forget basso and Trader_Jorge absence from the thread. I genuinely want to hear rational thinking McCain voters' opinion on this interview. Refman? Weslinder?
Well, I don't think many people are denying that. It doesn't shake your opinion of her at all? She seems in incredibly over her head with absolutely no grasp of critical issues. Even after weeks of being sheltered and spoon fed information from, presumably, the best Republicans have to offer, she completely fumbles a Katie Couric interview?
Wes, what can the Repubs do? Can they get rid of her? Or are they locked into having her on the ticket? If they continue the free fall in the polls I would try to get her to leave on her own and appoint Lieberman or someone else... At first she energized the party, but now she has turned into an anchor, and I have to credit the dems for not attacking her...she is doing it all on her own..... DD
I've paid a ton of attention to Palin since she was elected governor. I've seen her in all sorts of interviews, and she's been nothing short of brilliant. She's a brilliant woman, and she's a great speaker. She's done great on some of the same issues in the past. It's a little baffling, but I think it has more to do with her being conflicted between her own beliefs and being expected to parrot McCain's talking points, which she may not agree with or believe in.
Thanks for responding. I really hope that's the case, for the sake of our country. Her answer (?)Don't even know what to call it.) to the question on the bailout plan REALLY scared me. I saw the SNL skit before the interview, so you can imagine my horror, when I saw that those were some of her actual responses to the questions.
