I hate how any crackpot site with no credibility attacks the mainstream press in order to boost their crazy claims.

I highly, highly doubt there is any truth behind this. But if in the event that it is true, I would have to greatly disagree with the sentiment that it is of no relevance and that it would subsequently have no bearing upon the election result. This would be a complete disaster.

Good summary. This nonsense has about a 1/100,000 chance of being true. If it is, the election is over.

This is kook, left-wing rubbish that shouldn't even be discussed. Just shameful.

Even after Edwards, I'm going to need something more than "the National Enquirer" is all over it.

    agreed

It goes both ways...if we dont want the far-right wacko crap posted, we should feel the same about the crap from the far-left.

They are two sides of the same coin...and that coin is counterfeit.

I have a feeling that pic is a fake, but if proven to be legit, the election is over.

If it's true she took a 3 to 4 month work leave with govement money, and also forged documents.

Why? i don't like her and I do think she adds nothing to the GOP ticket or the national discourse, but this shouldn't affect things that much. If anything, it will help her on the far right because she took on the responsibility of the baby.

Because she lied about who's baby it was. It may help her with some on the far right but it will destroy her credibility with everyone else.

The only way that should matter is if it was her husband who is the father of the daughter's child or some similar sick thing like that.

If it's a couple of teenagers making a mistake, I think most people would consider that out of bounds and respect her for protecting the baby and her daughter.

If it's really hers, no big deal even if the husband is the father. :)

With all due respect, are you serious? I feel ridiculous even discussing this because of the need for inclusion of these two caveats but A) there is such a slim chance of the veracity of this rumor and B) the alleged events would not conflict with my value system or the standard to which I hold public officials. Quite frankly, I don't give a damn.

    BUT

seriously, you don't think the very religious fringe that would have been energized by her presence on the ticket would find it horrific that her teenage daughter gave birth out of wedlock and even hypocritical in light of her ultra-conservative position along the spectrum? This election would be over, IMHO.

I think this should be left alone, as it could backfire. Besides, She only did what a caring mother would do.

children of candidates should not be put under the microscope, especially a child with down syndrome. I'm sure had it been michelle obama in that position, hannity and the rest of the evil goons would be all over it. But we must look past that.

    I'm not saying it's true...but the last time I posted a rumor...John Edwards...it was true.

I hope this thread gets locked. Pretty pathetic rumor, and it would have swept Alaska by now if there was any substance to it.

If you're tempted to believe this, I'll add the following: the chromosomal problem that leads to Down's Syndrome is much more likely for mothers moving well into their 40's. This just adds even more likelihood that it is a 44-yr-old's child.

Of course, I'd love to ask why someone who already has been blessed with 4 healthy kids, in a very populous world, would want to risk a Down's Syndrome baby and go for #5. Doctors typically warn about this risk for women over 40.

    Again, hope it's locked up.

But are Alaskan chromosomes different from national chromosomes?
 Maybe I don't want to know the answer to that. :D

I don't understand why she should have to cover it up in the first place. It's not like it would ruin her daughter's reputation. There are plenty of successful single teenager mothers out there that have turned out quite well. Again what great service is she doing taking responsibility of the kid that she couldn't do as a grand mother? Her daughter has nothing to lose. Her mother would lose a lot though in all of this. That's why its a potential cover up. She's not doing her daughter any favors. I don't think there's any validity to this rumor though.
