Appreciate the history lesson tree, I slept thru most of my history classes! Your right tho...We cant unmake what happened in the past and the West will never allow anyone to destroy them (if anyone could) So hopefully after this whole terrorist hunt is over, some lasting steps towards real peace can happen. Im not holding my breath waiting for it to happen tho... Im still a little confused tho, If they were there for 1000 yrs before the Romans kicked em out, where were they before that?
I don't remember when the exact date of the Exodus was supposed to be, but it was well before 1000 BC, I know that. They were in Egypt. Slaves, remember?
The Hebrews migrated to this area around 1800 BC, and there have been many peoples that have inhabited the area throughout history. Also, the Balfour Declaration was made in 1917.
duh ding!!! Been along time since I went to church, but yeah that is indeed the story. ok...sorry , its late and Im tired. Once again, I appreciate the info and the discussion. Take care all...Im gone Peace
At least they had a two thousand year-old claim. I am not defending nor denying Israel's birth, but be prepared for the ramifications of the argument that you make...All non-Amerindians, prepare to pack your bags. glynch wants us all to move out, we have no moral right to be here.
haven -- even oppressed people begin to lose my sympathy when they target civilians, particularly children. you compare it to the black civil rights movement...how successful would that movement have been with such a strategy? please don't lecture me on Christian spirit, haven. you can play the sympathy game for the poor pitiful terrorist all you want...don't expect me to. don't expect those in this country who lost loved ones in NYC or Washington to do so either.
Cohen, reread my post. Just like the Native Americans, I feel the Palestinians will have to accept existing fact that they were conquered.
You're right. It's actually one of your better posts. BTW, do you have any ideas on what to do for Palestinians who left or were forced off of Israeli lands? What if the world community created a nice big pot of money to reimburse them for their losses and actually build some better villages than what they left? I imagine that it would not appease all, but its something.
