Maybe if we stick them in jail they'll have better leadership after them.

Sure they will. After watching the world take a giant **** on its democratically elected leaders ( and it's adorable to watch leftists who worship at the altar of that system of government call for democratically elected leaders to be tried by people who didn't participate in electing them at all), Israel will take it up the ass and make nice with the Palestinians. Of course.

    Not to mention....who's "we?"

It's for the Palestinians to decide if justice is the price of peace. I believe every group of people should be able to seek justice. Zionism is a scourge and countries, including the US, that employ a might makes right foreign policy ultimately pay a heavy price for their audacity.

    A presentation by Walid Shoebat

If anything it overlooks how the Palestinians are being used as puppets in the same way Spain was leading up to WWII. Furthermore, it completely glosses over how Palestinians were forced out of their own land to accommodate an unwanted Jewish population after WWII.

All in all, both sides barely want peace and to say Israel supports peace is a farce. Israel wants dominance, they want control, they want it their way. That's how any person would be, it's human to want to control a situation. Israel has bigger supporters than Palestine does, and so far they get it their way. This is the first deviation from that and now people are up in arms. This must be how Republicans felt after Reagan/Bush...

Well this is true for the IRA/Sinn Fein, the Irgun/Likud and will be true some day of the Hamas/PlO or whatever the party is called.

We have the election of Hamas vs the election of Lidud and their even more extremist partners. We have primitive rockets vs latest version bombers and missiles. We have the frequent 100 to one kill ratios of Palestinians vs Israelis.
We have the deliberate policy of economic sabotage and blockade and arrest with out charges. There is no significant moral distinction, try as Israel might struggle to establish.

Well, they're not making nice with the Palestinians now, if you have read into the Palestine Papers and what is happening at the negotiations.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/jan/23/palestinians-israel-biggest-jerusalem-history

I don't particularly think trying Israeli leaders is a great idea, but the status quo of bad-faith negotiations where Israel is leveraging all its' might is clearly not working, and is making things worse, so it's not like keeping things on track will do anything. An ICC investigation might do the trick.

As for leftists who "worship at the shrine of democracy"---am I to assume that "rightists" don't?

A two state solution is inevitable. It is the only road map to true peace.

You are correct to assume. They like to say we are a "Republic not a democracy". They often overthrow democratically elected governments if they don't like the results.

Here at home we saw a massive attempt to keep folks from voting which backfired. Many of them seem like they have refused to accept the election results, calling for cession. .

What exactly will Israel do if they are tried for war crimes? lol I'd love to hear how they would escalate things. I suggest that they would not change their behavior or escalate it. Instead they would just ignore it while continuing to do the same thing. They don't mind that. Stealing land and killing 6 times as many people while playing the victim? They don't give a damn about Israelis who suffer from these policies, nevermind Palestinians.

The number one solution is no states at all and no interference. The number two solution is a non-Israel, non-Palestine one-state solution. Hell, I can think of a dozen better solutions than a two state solution. But reailty is that the two state solution is the only one within reach and it is worth pursuing to achieve some progress and save some lives.

An interesting article on a site run by Jews who still try to maintain the Jewish tradition of social justice which predated the colonization of Palestine which has been threatened by Israel and uncritical support for Israel as they become the standard bearer for the right in the world. The article explains how Israel, in response to the UN move may, according to many, have taken the last step to essentially prevent the two state solution by annexing and building on the E1 xone, the last possible strip of land that would allow a contiguous Palestinian state.

The article says Israel seems to be going for a two and a half state solution. Gaza, Greater Israel and a couple of tiny South African bantustan style disconnected small, but very heavily populated Palestinians enclaves on the West Bank. These bantustans would be carefully designed to contain as much of the Palestinaian population as possible, to maintain a majority Jewish popuation with as little of the water and resources as possible,of course.

Hopefully Israel will not get away with this attempt at permanent ethnic cleansing. Appparently the E1 zone has been well known to be off limits and key to a Palestinian state. All previous US administrations as well as international players have previously prevented Israel from annexing this land.

I think the one state solution with equality for all is most just. It is their lives after all, so if they all want a relatively just two state solution, their choice.

However, what do you mean by a "no states solution"?
