Just remember....you get what you pay for.

I got my old Torino painted for 300 bucks at a cheap paint job place back in the 80's.....crappiest paint job EVER.

Go ahead and shell out a little more and make sure you get a decent job done.

Exactly. If you want it done right, with minimal defects and whatnot, then you need to be prepared to fork out at least $2,000.

Overall, changing the color of your car is a bad, bad idea. Unless the painter paints the aprons and all the jambs and hidden areas, then its going to greatly diminish the value of your car.

Painting a car is neither an easy, or quick task. I know painters who have been in the business for 20 years, and most of them are butchers. There are only a handful of quality painters left in the industry. It is a dying art.

Excellent advice....however, I have a sneaky suspicion that it will fall on deaf ears.

You need to get some low cost spinner hubcaps to go with your candy paint job.

I wonder if Milburn is still in business?
That man used to do all the sweetest rides...

Sound advice codell....I have seen many cars with a sweet looking paint job on the outside...and the old faded color under the hood and inside the doors......looks stupid as hell.

Yeah, he is still in business over in Pasadena. He is doing alot of custom chopper work now. His work is pretty good.

I know he is charging around $3,000 to paint a chopper. Youd have to think its even more to do a car.

The king of screwing up your paint jobs!

I didn't mention them earlier because I wouldn't want anyone to get an idea to go there but that is where my screwed up paint job came from.

the 399 special....and you have to do all your own prep work...taping off, removal of trim you don't want painted, etc...

    avoid at all costs.
